Arduino RTP Midi Controller - Project Guidance

I'm in the process of designing a custom midi controller for a upcoming install in a venue. Controller will be interfaced to a mac mini so was hoping to use RTP midi and then just have one ethernet cable running between them. I understand the basic concept behind a arduino midi controller but instead of having a usb or 5 pin midi din output I wanna send it over RTP midi instead. I've found some documentation on it but still trying to make sense of how I'll be setting it up. I guess I'm just doing a sanity check before I dive deep and try and get this to work. Is something like this possible or would I maybe have to do two arduino's? One for the midi controller side and then connect that to another one just handling the RTP midi.

I have found some midi 5 pin to rtp midi converters but they are pricey and if I can get this streamlined and working nicely with some inexpensive arduino's it would make it a lot more appealing as a controller solution. Thanks in advance for any input/advice.

There is an AppleMIDI (also known as RTP MIDI) library for Arduino. One Arduino with Ethernet shield or board should be able to communicate with a Mac computer connected to Ethernet. GitHub - lathoub/Arduino-AppleMIDI-Library: Send and receive MIDI messages over Ethernet (rtpMIDI or AppleMIDI)
