They are on the cover of my bin. I googled it, but they all look different. I guess it depends on the type of cricket.

The don’t look like cricket eggs to me. Cricket eggs look more like a grain of rice and the usually lay them in moist soil or some moist area. Lennoncham

No nettles... but there some gnats in there. The are on top of the cover, so not in the dirt (what I thought crickets would lay in. Ok... I’m getting rid of them. Ty Beman

I would say not something you want if they are on the lid of your bin. A cricket can't jump up there and lay eggs so that rules out crickets... Which means mystery bugs... I would clean your bin as well. Transfer the crickets back into a clean bin with new egg crates. JoXie411

They are fly larvae, likely a kind of phorid. If I ever get big die off the phorid find a way and lay eggs in the dead. The larvae feed on dead rotten stuff, some are parasitic, but I haven't noticed any of these kinds around. When they pupate they often climb to the top of the bin and then hatch back out into flies.
