We’ve been seeing Ariana Grande on our TV screens twice a week for the past few months on The Voice, and now that it’s over, we’re getting some serious Ari withdrawal symptoms! While watching the new coach on the NBC singing competition, we couldn’t help but marvel at her daring wardrobe choices, her enviable figure, and her flawless complexion. But when looking at her aforementioned complexion, we couldn’t help but notice how much her face has changed over the years…

We think we’ve gotten used to accepting Ariana as she is right now, as we’ve seen her so often over the past few months; but when we look at pictures of the 28-year-old singer from a few years ago, we actually can’t believe the difference!

We have accepted that the former Nickelodeon star may have had some subtle procedures such as fillers and perhaps even rhinoplasty (the jury’s still out on whether she had a nose job, as Ari has never confirmed this and actually went as far as denying it on Twitter – although she does have a habit of sometimes editing her nose on Instagram!) but we can’t ignore the changes we have seen this year! The “Santa Tell Me” singer has been rumored to have had even more cosmetic procedures towards the end of this year, causing her to look almost unrecognizable! The redhead we loved on Victorious and Sam and Cat seems like a totally different person!

We’ve been looking at a lot of before and after pictures of the “7 Rings” singer these past few days, especially since we found some very interesting images on social media that make the difference in her face more obvious than ever! The Instagram account @igfamousbydana is one of many social media accounts that involve qualified individuals such as skin experts and cosmetic surgeons, for example, commenting on what procedures they think celebs may or may not have done. And what was said about Ari’s face was very interesting!

Has Ariana Grande had a ponytail face lift?

When we hear the word ponytail, we instantly think it’s in reference to the “Thank U, Next” singer’s iconic hairstyle which she sported for many years. However, that’s not what we are referring to on this occasion. The ponytail face lift is the name of a cosmetic procedure described as an endoscopic face lift, which requires incisions being made in the hairline and sometimes behind the ears, which is where we assume the term ponytail face lift comes from.

According to reports, it’s actually a very popular procedure among young people (people in the public eye, especially) as it’s not a traditional face lift in the sense that it removes wrinkles and saggy skin, which is what older people would conventionally get a face lift for. In actual fact, the ponytail face lift procedure reshapes the face, and can give a filtered, airbrushed, sleek and defined look, with a huge difference in the shape of the eyes and the definition of the jaw, for example.

Filter is the operative word here, as it can literally make you look like a walking Instagram filter, and Bella Hadid is one of the A-listers who has been rumored to have had this treatment in the past. Bella's face has changed a LOT over the years, so the ponytail face lift could be one of the reasons! Social media was divided about the "Into You" singer's alleged cosmetic procedures, but most people are in agreement that Ari's face undoubtedly looks very different to the way it used to a few years ago. "It’s always been so obvious to me she got work done but nobody ever says anything or just attributes it to weight loss 90% of the time. She did a good job though. pretty as always," one fan wrote, while another couldn’t help but notice the difference in her eye shape, writing, "Face looks super tight. Noticed it in her eyes first as that’s always been my fav feature of hers. The lids are almost non existent now."

Another fan thought that the singer may indeed have had some minor work done, but her new look could also be attributed to other factors such as different makeup. "Not all of these are actual surgical procedures like a pony tail face lift. You’d be surprised how much a face can change and lift with Botox when placed correctly. Prevention is key which is what Ariana has been doing. She’s also ditched the excessive fake tan & doing her eyeliner more straight and out to the sides these days not arched as high up," the IG user wrote. We can’t confirm what Ariana has had done – if anything – and we doubt we will find out anytime soon. But let's just appreciate that she was beautiful before and is beautiful now; we love you Ari!
