Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest, an anime unique even in the isekai genre, is coming back for another epic season.

The anime is adapted from a popular web novel written and illustrated by Ryo Shirakome. Having such good roots, Arifureta is bound to be a famous isekai anime series.

Unlike most isekai where the main character is OP from the beginning, Arifureta is different as the main character “Hajime” has to suffer a lot to gain his powers. This unique storyline from the isekai genre made fans fall in love with the series.

1. Release Date: When Is Arifureta Season 2 Coming?

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest season 2 is set to release in January 2022. Asread and Studio Mother will produce the anime.

2. Arifureta Season 2 Visual & Illustration

In the visual we see the main male protagonist Hajime with a grin while holding handguns in both hands.

While Yue, the female protagonist is smiling with her handheld back.

In the illustration, we see a new character illustration for Yue. She sits comfortably and gives off a cute smile with a victory sign.

3. Arifureta Season 2 Trailer

The trailer starts by giving us a glimpse of the beautiful Heilihi Kingdom. It introduces us to the new character, Princess Liliana, who meets with Hajime and his companions.

Hajime reunites with his teammates and sets off on a journey where a colossal monster attacks them. Later we see Hajime questioning, “Who are the real enemies of this world?” The trailer ends with an introduction of a mysterious new character.

4. New Character & Cast

In Arifureta season 2, we will likely be seeing two new characters:

I. Liliana SB Heilich

Liliana is a Princess of the Heilihi Kingdom. She is a kind-hearted girl who always cares about her summoned classmates. She is a good friend of Kaori and Shizuku. She also goes by her nickname “Lily.”

II. Noint

Noint is a mysterious woman with silver hair and blue eyes. She is characterized by being expressionless and being a blunt woman who speaks with a very monotone voice.

5. What To Expect In Season 2?

The first season was more of an isekai fantasy storyline, but in season 2, we may likely see more of the harem storyline coming into play.

Arifureta season 1 ended with Hajime defeating the demon, rescuing his classmates, and Kaori declaring her love for him. They travel on together to seek out more labyrinths and find a way home to Earth.

In season 2, we may see Hajime have eyes only for Yue and be serious about his relationship with her. As for Yue, she has other plans for their relationship, as she encourages Hajime to get with other girls and not just her!

Taking in Yue’s suggestion, Hajime slowly gets more girlfriends as the story progresses. As they travel to the next labyrinth, Hajime works on his feelings of what he truly wants. This next labyrinth may force Hajime to sort out his feelings even faster as they run into trouble’s way.

6. Conclusion

Season 1 had many production problems, which led to delays, and eventually, the resulting product suffered. The series was well-received but also had a lot of criticism about the animation.

Hopefully, in season 2, with a new director and a new secondary studio, they can pull a perfect production and give us the ultimate “Arifureta” that we all are waiting for.

With the year 2021 almost coming to end, I’m excited to see how season 2 unfolds next year in January 2022.

7. About Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest is a light novel series by Ryo Shirakoma. It was first published in November 2013 as a novel and received a light novel in 2015. It has several manga adaptations and season 1 of its anime premiered in July 2019.

Hajime Nagumo, an average otaku, is often bullied by his classmates. He wishes for his annoying classmates to be summoned to another world. Little did he know that his wish would come true, and he would be summoned along with them.

To thrive in this new world, he has to face every challenge that comes his way. However, a shocking event will make him a character feared by others.
