Mai 2015 um 4:49 ARK - Is it possible to play alone with one or two Friends and still get alot out of the Game Iam really done with open PVP games, everyone kills everyone on sight, destroys other people´s stuff and trys to be as annoying as possible. I rather play with close Friends against the enviorment. 1.) Does the Game offer enough to have fun with a couple Friends against the ARK World, without having "randome" people around?2.) Mai 2015 um 5:29 I'm sure there will be tutorials for this in the future, however, since this game is quite server side intensive, you would need a pretty beefy box (aka PC or actual server) in order to handle it. I'm not even sure that you would be able to have the server and play the game on the same box, unless perhaps you had an extreme computer. I say this because playing Minecraft on the same box as my server, was even a bit difficult and I don't have a weak system.If you're really new to game servers and what not, then this may not be the best route for you to take, as there are a few things you will need to know how to do in order to get it working and will require you to have admin access to your own local network to set up port forwarding and static IP's, etc. What I'm trying to say is that setting up game servers isn't as simple as opening a file and clicking on Start. You sort of need to have some IT experience to get it working right. However, since the game hasn't been released, it's still hard to say exactly what is going to be needed to get a server up and running. Since the devs are really wanting the community to mod the crap out of this game, perhaps it won't be as hard as I'm anticipating, however, they did indicate that because the game is so server side intensive that your server would need to be a bit better than most. Depends what files they give us but basically there will be some sort of Server settings (for IP address's, server-name, password and other things) and an .exe file to launch the server-(apparently), when you have adjusted the server settings you launch the server.exe file and done you join your server;p obviously its not as simple but we can get into more detail as the game comes out ..There is also port forwarding and static IP setup if you plan on letting people outside of your house (local area network - LAN) joining. (although this may not be required as some games don't.. i am no genius on the topic so i cant tell why or why not with any specificity - if that's a word..) #7 Lukasz Profil anzeigen Beiträge anzeigen 26. as long as your cool with like 4 gigs of ram and some processing power being used for the server you should be alright. i could be wrong since you know, haven't actually had a hold of the game yet. #10 CheddarWang Profil anzeigen Beiträge anzeigen 2. Jun. 2015 um 20:15 Single Player?! How. Cause I've tried to stupid Local host ♥♥♥♥ and all it does is lock up my computer. And I have a good computer. I didnt try yet, but i found Server hoster that allow you to rent a Server for like 0,80 cents per Slot, so i really dont think you need to host it Localy if its that cheap!
