If you're playing ARK: Survival Evolved, sooner or later you're going to need Silica Pearls to progress further in the late game. In our guide, we tell you what you need silicon for, how to make it, and how to get the rare ingredients.
These are Silica Pearls: Silica Pearls are a basic ingredient for Electronics (Required for Engineering), some Saddles and Platforms, and Equipment. You can usually find the pearls deep on the ocean floor or in the bodies of shellfish.
This is where you can find Silica Pearls in ARK
Ocean/ Sea
You can easily find Silica Pearls at the bottom of the ocean or sea and in underwater caves. They are in glittery shells that usually spawn in groups of five. A shell contains on average 2 to 4 pearls. Once you find them, you can easily harvest them by hand. Since there are quite a lot of aggressive creatures in the water, it is advisable to take a companion with you instead of going it alone,
TheCenter
On the map "The Center" you can find the pearls at the bottom of the inland rivers and in the hot springs around the volcanic island. Since the waters of the map are inhabited by piranhas and saber-toothed salmon, you should only be sufficiently armed and with a strong mount to search for the pearls there.
Scorched Earth
Silicon Pearls can be found on the Scorched Earth map in oases and in the river bed in the middle area of the map, where you can harvest them from the banks and bottom of the water bodies.

Snow biome/ cold and frozen locations
With the help of fur armor and a flying animal, you can easily fly to the shores of the snow biome and collect the pearls there.
The frozen areas of the northwest coast are also a place your flying animal can easily carry you to. With the fur armor, you can also go into the water briefly to harvest the pearls without catching a cold. Only the Kairuku usually spawns in this area, so you have little to worry about.
You can also find Silica beads at the bottom of the cold sea to the west of the map, and at the bottom of the pond to the north near the peninsula.
In our guides on flying creatures to ride, you will learn how to tame and breed them:
