At Asteron, we’ve come a long way since 1833. We’ve grown with the times, and changed to meet the developing needs of generations after generations of Australians – but what has made us such a long-lasting, valued company has always been this spirit of service, and our understanding of just how valuable life is.

On 4 September 2018, the Suncorp Group announced that it had signed a share sale deed with TAL Dai-ichi Life Australia Pty Limited ABN 97 150 070 483 (TAL) for the sale of Suncorp Life & Superannuation Limited ABN 87 079 979 530 AFSL 229880 (SLSL). The sale of SLSL to TAL was completed on 28 February 2019. Following this SLSL changed its name to Asteron Life & Superannuation Limited (Asteron). On 1 October 2021 Asteron completed a transfer of Asteron’s life insurance business to TAL Life Limited ABN 70 050 109 450 AFSL 237848 under Part 9 of the Life Insurance Act 1995 (Cth).
