‘Attack on Titan: The Final Season’ part two: When’s the finale, and will there be a movie?

The series finale of “Attack on Titan” is nearly upon us.

But as the anime is about to draw to a close, fans are wondering: is there a movie in store?

Please note: although all PennLive anime and manga posts typically contain zero spoilers, the following article may have a few. If you haven’t caught up to the latest “Attack on Titan” episode, you may want to skip this article.

You’ve been warned.

First thing’s first: Decider confirms that the final episode of “Attack on Titan” will air on Sunday, April 3 and will be available for streaming on the usual platforms, a.k.a., Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. So, yes—this upcoming episode is, indeed, the last one.

Titled “The Dawn of Humanity,” the episode takes its name from one of the final chapters of the manga. However, “The Dawn of Humanity” is only Chapter 130; the story actually ends with Chapter 139.

So, what does that mean, then? Is this upcoming actually the for real, for real end of the “Attack on Titan” anime? Or is there a movie In the works?

Unfortunately, those involved in the anime’s production and its streaming are remaining mum (for now): The only thing confirmed is that “Attack on Titan” will end when the Winter 2022 anime season ends, so, basically, in April, by this writer’s estimate.

That doesn’t mean a movie isn’t completely off the books, although another fan theory out there as to why tonight’s episode was delayed a week is because it may be an hour long.
