Firmware After releasing the August 2022 security update to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, and the Galaxy S20, Samsung has started rolling it out to the Galaxy S10 series. The update is currently rolling out in various European countries and regions, including Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Switzerland, and the Nordic region.

How to install the August 2022 security update on your Galaxy S10 series phone?

The latest software update for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+ bears firmware version G97xFXXSGHVH2. You can install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flash it using the manual process.

Samsung debuted the Galaxy S10 series in 2019 with Android 9-based One UI software. The devices received the Android 10-based One UI 2 update in early 2020, the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in 2021, and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year.

What's new with Galaxy S10's August 2022 update?

Going by Samsung's monthly security update documentation, the August 2022 security patch fixes dozens of vulnerabilities in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update fixes MAC address leak issues, vulnerabilities in Samsung DeX and Samsung Knox, and improper access control security buds, among others. The update could also include general bug fixes and stability improvements.
