Effect

Generations IV and V

Aura Sphere inflicts damage and bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly. It can hit non-adjacent targets in Triple Battles.

Generation VI onward

Aura Sphere's power was lowered from 90 to 80. Additionally, its power is boosted by 50% if the user has Mega Launcher, and Pokémon with Bulletproof are immune to it.

• Aura Sphere bears resemblances both in visuals and in its Japanese name (はどうだん Hadōdan) to the Hadouken attack in the Street Fighter video game series.
• In Pokémon X and Y, a camera clipping glitch occurs when the player uses Aura Sphere against some of Drasna's Pokémon.
