reviewsAvon Park FL is a sanctuary City for bigots, corrupt business people/generational families, and dirty politicians. Racism and ignorance exists everywhere in the ridge that covers Clewiston all the way up to Lakeland. It's a culture of exclusion, ignorance and prejudice. It's disgusting on so many levels! We just sold our home. My husband had a great job at Advent Health Sebring as a attending neurologist and got a transfer to Orlando. Good riddance and seriously, do not even consider moving to Avon Park Florida!

reviewsThe City never should've leased the airport to FAM. FAM has no capital funding as a organization. The taxpayers are giving free money to FAM who has no experience in Airport Management to run an airport ??? They have existed for 3 years as a corporation. The land and soil surrounding the airport is completely contaminated with arsenic, sewage seepage and lead as it was used as a dumping site during world war 2. No one talks about why that land has been vacant for the past 80 years. Get a grip Avon Park taxpayers! This is another scam to get taxpayers to pay for a pipe dream!

reviewsI've lived year for 20+ years and love it. AP is small and quiet with plenty to do if you like Florida outdoors. The larger cities certainly have many more distraction which may or may not be your cup of tea. I prefer my tea sweet and my weather warm so it works great. The politics are interesting but the mayor sure is a straight shooter and the business climate is friendly. If you want to start a business that doesn't rely on the local median income it is a fantastic place.
