LO is rolling over like crazy now, and she's growing out of her rocker (she's a big girl! Lol). She is also rolling like crazy now, so if I'm doing something I want her to be in the safety of a pack and play.. She still uses the swing for naps sometimes, but really only if she's already asleep when I put her in it. It's mostly used to switch things up for her if I feel like she's used her bouncer or rocker a lot. But her feet hang over it and her head is almost to the top of it. It has a harness buckle so I'm not worried about her falling out of it.. Idk i just don't want to get rid of it too soon.. And i just don't want her to be this old yet! So when did you decide it was time to give the swing the boot?Original poster's comments (2)go to original poster's comments pagereplied with hug3Comment Advertisement | page continues below

  • member avatarburgdorfs Posted 07-23-17Our swing was probably smaller then yours and it got dangerous to use months ago. Lo is very tall tho 100% for height. She never seemed to miss it. She is really into her exercise play mat and her excersaucer See all replies (1)

I don't see any way it could possibly tip over, and the harness keeps her snug.. My friend used it for over a year with her boy, but my LO has already surpassed her son on his measurements at his one year checkup.. PS - ignore the messy DVD shelf, my 4yo picked out a movie this morning lol

  • member avatarzzelda123 Posted 07-23-17I've kept my 2 baby swings (one in her room, one in laundry room ) but lo hasn't used them in probably 2 + months. She just has too many other things to play with and explore she can't be strapped in the swing.. lol if your questioning it I would say it's time to retire!See all replies (1)Advertisement | page continues below

She would probably much rather be in the play pen or on one of her play mats. She likes to stretch out and roll around. Now I just gotta convince my husband to get excited about building the crib and moving stuff around! Lol

I never used one with feb lo but I think DD was about this age when I stopped using hers. She never really liked it anyway tho. I stopped using her rocker when she started reaching over the side.

I'd bet she's beyond See all replies (1)

  • tTittysandbeer Posted 07-23-17Right now I'm leaving the swing because it's perfect for naps and I have nowhere else to put her. I think odd stopped using the swing at 8ish months but she was super short. It's going to be a pain when she gets too big because her only other place to sleep is my room where dh sleeps during the day. It's taking up way less room than a pack n play so I won't get rid of it until I have to
  • member avatarKatelynLockhart Posted 07-23-17My lo had two which she stopped using both probably in between 3-4 months. She honestly is just so big that they struggled to swing haha. I just moved them out the way one day and they have stayed gone. My lo rather be held or laying on a play may though anyways
  • ggetur Posted 07-23-17Me and DH just discussed about retiring Mothercare bouncing vibrating and music playing seat. She kicks her legs to the console and that doesn't seem to bother her but for us it's painful to watch. Cats also love that seat but we need to make room for other toys. Retiring this means end of an era. It was the first thing we put her in when brought her home from hospital. And her first at home picture was taken in it and also first home video. She has a really strong back so we bought her a swing, it's under a apple tree and she loves it. We use it for short period of time and use a blanket to support her.
