My newborn diaper supply is running low and I have size ones ready to go...I'm just not sure when I should actually make the switch. LO weights about 8lbs now and I see that the newborns are good up to 10lbs but size 1s are good from 8-14lbs.
Do I just wait until it seems like she is busting out of her newborns? Or can I switch at any time?

spohl08 InactivePosted 05-03-12My LO was born at 8lbs 7oz and the size one diapers I have to fold way down to fit. The nb fit him fine. He's a week old and I'll probably keep them on him for another two weeks. Size one wil work you will just have to fold them.
- tTippyGurl Posted 05-03-12I'm already using 1! My baby is over 8 lbs...they will be kinda big but I would use all your newborns first then use the size 1!Advertisement | page continues below
- mMs.KandiC Posted 05-03-12Simple. If it fits wear it. Don't make things complicated.
- bbostonma164 Posted 05-03-12My lo was 9.9 so he never wore newborn diapers! Ive been told that when they start peeing/pooping through its time to move up a size. If ones are a lil big just fold it over in the front I wouldnt waste your money on any more newborns.
- cchantel2012 Posted 05-03-12My son was born 8lbs 13.6oz. He fit in newborn great but his chunky thighs always had marks. So I switched to size 1, and it's better on his legs but it's saggy on him and goes pretty high up his back and belly. He's now 9lbs 8oz and it's still that way.
- mmwb14 Posted 05-03-12My LO is 2 weeks old tomorrow. We've been using size 1 for a couple days now. He was born at 7lbs 14 oz. I switched because I noticed he would sleep longer in the size 1. He was almost peeing through the newborn diapers.
- jJab_01 Posted 05-03-12I wouldn't go out and buy more newborns, just use the size ones
- gGraceHL Posted 05-03-12My daughter was 9.7 at birth - 9.9 a week later and still doesn't seem to fit size 1. They are too loose on her thighs and I'm afraid her poop will come out the back. We bought another pack of newborns today cause I prefer they fit a little snugger. Probably depends on how your baby is built. Mine is heavy but long so she seems thinner.
- aalex.altonji Posted 05-03-12My girl was born 8lb 9oz, the 1's were a little big (that's all they give at the hospital) the newborns fit perfectly but for like 2 days.. She's at this in between stage right now and it's frustrating. The newborns leave rings on her legs and the ones blow out because they're big on the sides.Don't buy anymore newborns, just switch to ones and fold them and make sure there's no sags to prevent blowouts!
