However, viewers of the mega-popular dating show haven’t forgotten about the former bachelor‘s cringeworthy mistake when he accidentally granted a rose to the wrong woman.
Following the goof, Jesse earned the number nine spot in a video listing “The Bachelors’ 20 Most Amazing Moments.”
Reminisced in the clip, the then 26-year-old called up contestant Katie to accept a rose during the rose ceremony.
However, Jesse realized his faux paus immediately after and asked to speak with then-host Chris privately.
During their sidebar, Jesse admitted to Chris that he mixed up the ladies names meaning to gift a rose to Karen, not Katie.
He begged to Chris: “we’ve got to do that again, somehow we’ve got to do that again.”

Chris agreed and when the two returned, Jesse explained his error to the ladies.
Jesse confessed his mistake and offered Katie the opportunity to stay, which she accepted replying: “I’ll stay and see how things go.”
He was then given an extra rose, which he delivered to Karen, who responded: “I thought you’d never ask.”
In his search for love, the sports star ended up choosing 22-year-old student, Jessica Bowlin in the show’s finale.
It didn’t last long, however – as fans predicted when the sports star opted not to propose to Jessica on the show.
Instead, he presented her with a one-way ticket to New York, which she declined.
The couple said they would attempt to make long-distance work but their relationship fizzled out after just a few months.
Jesse is currently engaged to Brazilian-born model Emely Fardo who he met in 2017.
NEW HOST
Yesterday, the show announced that Jesse will be replacing the long-time host after Chris was fired over “racist comments.”
“For more than 20 years, The Bachelor has brought the world dozens of unforgettable love stories, including at one time, my own,” Jesse said in a statement to Variety.
“Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.”
Jesse, 42, is best known as a television broadcaster and former NFL quarterback.
He starred as The Bachelor himself during season five, which aired in 2004.
Jesse will serve as the host as new Bachelor Clayton Echard searches for love on the dating reality show.
Variety previously reported that Clayton, 28, has been tapped as the next Bachelor.
Fans of the dating franchise have not yet met Clayton, who will appear as a contestant on Michelle Young’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette.
Sources told the outlet that producers quickly fell in love with Clayton and he rose to the top of the network’s shortlist.
After the network a number of other men from Bachelor Nation to fill the leading role, Clayton was named the next Bachelor.
CHRIS FIRED
The decision to hire Jesse came months after Chris, 50, was axed from the show.
Chris was fired after he defended Georgia contestant Rachael Kirkconnell, who was discovered to have attended an Antebellum plantation-themed party in 2018.
After the photos resurfaced, Chris defended her during an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay on Extra.
