Description
Baja Blast is a Mexican-inspired Tropical Lime flavor of Mountain Dew. It is an ocean-like teal in color, with its tropical theming shared with its Baja Family of flavors, while it was once paired with former secondary Taco Bell exclusive Sangrita Blast.
Tagline
Its original 2004 U.S. Taco Bell restaurant tagline was "A Tropical Lime Storm," while its 2025 redesign market release tagline is "Tropical Lime Naturally and Artificially Flavored."
History
On February 26th, 2004, PepsiCo filed[2] a trademark name for Baja Blast titled "MTN DEW BAJA BLAST."
Before it was released, both companies conducted extensive research to ensure the name, color, and taste to attain the expectations of Taco Bell's main menu items[3].
Baja Blast was first released in late July 2004[4], exclusively at Taco Bell locations in the United States, marking the first time a beverage company and a fast-food restaurant have created a proprietary beverage designed to complement for their food, in this case, Mexican-inspired food with the intent to increase drive-thru beverage sales[5].
It was an instant hit amongst Taco Bell consumers and Mountain Dew fans alike. When it was first released, it was heavily advertised in radio commercials and had sampling events across various locations, leading to a massive cult following in the years that followed.
As a result, the advertising of the flavor increased considerably, and the drink's popularity eventually resulted in a retail release in bottles and cans in 2014, since then, it has been a recurring staple of Mountain Dew's retail lineup ever since, frequently releasing as part of their summer lineup until 2024.
In January 2024[6], it was released as a permanent flavor. Baja Blast celebrated its actual birthday on July 29th, 2024.[7]
Annual Limited-Time retail releases
2014 Original Limited-Time store release
Main article: Baja or BustIn April 2014, after a successful decade of Taco Bell exclusivity, PepsiCo announced[8] Baja Blast was to be released for the first time at retail stores. The drink was released for a limited time in the summer of 2014. To celebrate its 10-year anniversary release, a promotion named "Baja or Bust" coincided with the release, which gave fans the opportunity to win Baja Blast-themed prizes with other Twitter posts[9].
Several leaks confirmed the drink's store release, as well as its release timing. It was eventually officially confirmed that it would be rolling out in stores on May 5th, 2014, and remained available for the summer until October of that year.
2015 Limited-Time store release
After its first successful retail release in 2014, PepsiCo announced[10], the re-release Baja Blast again for a limited time in the Summer of 2015. This release also featured Sangrita Blast, an all-new Taco Bell original flavor. The two flavors were released for the summer on April 20th, 2015. This remains the only store release of Sangrita Blast, which remained at Taco Bell locations until 2017.
2016 Limited-Time store release
Main article: DEWcision 2016In 2016, PepsiCo announced[11] a promotion called "DEWcision 2016" that pitted Baja Blast, returning to store shelves, against Pitch Black, another cult-classic Dew flavor. The winner of DEWcision 2016 was to be made the next permanent Dew flavor on store shelves. A national voting session was held for fans to vote on their favorite of the two flavors. Long-time Baja Blast fans had waited for this moment to come and took it to the next level with Twitter hashtags and challenges issued by Mountain Dew. Alas, Baja Blast lost to Pitch Black by a small margin[12] and was again discontinued from retail sales, leaving Pitch Black as the new "permanent" flavor.
2018 Limited-Time store release
Main article: Dew Nation RewardsAfter Baja Blast's loss in DEWcision, 2017 did not feature a retail release. In its limited-time release slot, that year was DEW-S-A, a mixture of Voltage, Code Red, and White Out in one flavored soda was released.
On September 1st, 2017, the official Mountain Dew Twitter account posted[13], asking fans to show their support for a future Baja Blast retail release, using the hashtag #BringBajaBlastBack. The demand was high, and Baja Blast was released[14] in stores on April 23rd, 2018, and remained available for the summer. Since 2018, Baja Blast has been a consistently recurring yearly summer release.
2019 Limited-Time store release
In the Summer of 2019, Baja Blast was re-released once again. However, its usual limited-time availability was shortened to make room for other limited-time flavors for future limited time releases. One of those flavors that year was Liberty Brew, which featured 50 different flavors in one soda. Baja Blast was available from March 11, 2019, until early June 2019.
Also, a Zero Sugar variant released in Taco Bell locations in December 2018 was supposed to be released alongside Baja Blast's Summer 2019 release, but it was canceled for unknown reasons.
In August 2019, Baja Blast was released in 24-packs for the first time as a limited-time Sam's Club exclusive and has been available at Sam's Club for some years for a limited time[15], eventually having a 36-pack release in 2021.[16]
2020 Limited-Time store release
In the Spring of 2020, Baja Blast was re-released as expected on March 23rd, 2020, and joined by the Zero Sugar variant for its first retail release until June 2020, for Liberty Brew's second release.
2021 Limited-Time store release
Main article: 100 Days of BajaOn October 8th, 2020, a leaked internal reel video surfaced, showing upcoming plans for the Mountain Dew brand for 2021. This video reaffirmed much of the previously-leaked information for 2021, including Baja Blast's imminent rerelease, alongside the existence of two new Baja flavors Baja Flash and Baja Punch alongside a new promotion called "100 Days of Baja." This release had a massive design overhaul for Baja Blast alongside its Zero Sugar variant, featuring tropical waves in the background and a teal bottle cap instead of the black cap of previous releases. This information also marks two brand new flavors to be released every summer from now on.
Baja Blast was released in early summer of 2021, alongside its Zero Sugar variant, Baja Flash and Baja Punch, where the 100 Days of Baja promotion also took place. It ran until September 2021, when the promotion and flavors were discontinued.
2022 Limited-Time store release
Main article: The Lost Treasures of Baja IslandBaja Blast was released[17] in early summer of 2022, alongside its Zero Sugar variant, Baja Mango Gem, Baja Gold, and Baja Blast ENERGY with a promotion called "The Lost Treasures of Baja Island" also took place, which held a chance to win an unreleased Baja-themed mystery flavor Baja Deep Dive, ran until the end of summer.
2023 Limited-Time store release
Main article: Summer of Baja BlastBaja Blast was released in early summer of 2023, alongside its Zero Sugar and Energy variant, Baja Caribbean Splash and Baja Passionfruit Punch with different colors to differentiate from those yellow and orange Baja-themed flavors with a new promotion named "Summer of Baja Blast." It ran until September 2023, when the promotion and flavors were discontinued.
This summer release was Baja Blast's last limited-time release before being made into a permanent flavor.
2024 Permanent release/20th "Bajaversary"
Main article: 20th BajaversaryTo commemorate its 20th Anniversary, PepsiCo[18] decided to make Baja Blast a permanent flavor for this release and beyond. This information was revealed on July 21st, 2023[19], when Team Supernova [20] (a well-respected Mountain Dew news source) posted a leak on Twitter stating that it was scheduled to be released in January 2024 alongside Zero Sugar and was also slated to be in a Super Bowl LVIII commercial[21] with actor Aubrey Plaza[22].
This release marked the United States as the second country to receive Baja Blast as a permanent flavor, the first being Canada. Baja Blast, alongside its Zero Sugar variant, was released alongside a cleverly named promotion referred to as its 20th "Bajaversary" which included two new limited-time Baja flavors released in late March: Laguna Lemonade, Point Break Punch as well as the addition of Doritos Baja Fiery Mango chips[23] also released in late March.
PepsiCo was hesitant to use the word "permanent" when referring to Baja Blast when it hit the shelves in January 2024. (Presumably to avoid the same backlash they received from fans after discontinuing Pitch Black and White Out after referring to them as permanent flavors.) However all signs internally and from Team Supernova's sources still indicated that the release was indeed permanent and not for one year only.
Baja Blast's permanency was further confirmed in January 2025[24], when Baja Blast received a brand new 2-liter bottle variant, with 24 packs expanding to other stores outside of Walmart, in addition to said retail brand getting new 12 packs of 16.9 oz. bottles. The flavor was also confirmed to be Mountain Dew's second bestselling flavor, just under the original, confirming Baja's status as a successful and still widely beloved flavor.
For the second consecutive year, Baja Blast was featured in a Super Bowl LVIII commercial[25] starring singer Seal. In the ad[26], Seal performed a parody of his famous song "Kiss from a Rose," which was retitled "Kiss from a Lime."[27] He appeared as a seal, having the body of a seal but with his head. The commercial also featured singer Becky G and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who portrayed the Mountain Dude character.
Freeze Variants
Baja Blast Freeze
In August 2012, select Taco Bell restaurant locations began offering Baja Blast Freeze, an icy Freeze variant of Baja Blast with similar physical properties as the restaurant's pre-existing Frutista Freeze product line. After the successful test release, Baja Blast Freeze was added to the Taco Bell menu permanently on January 31st, 2013.
Since its introduction in January 2013 as a permanent freeze, it quickly became Taco Bell's most popular freeze.[28]
Baja Blast Twisted Freeze
In September 2015[29], Taco Bell launched its first Taco Bell Cantina store in Wicker Park, Chicago, IL, which featured unique menu items and alcoholic beverages. Among these beverages was the Baja Blast Twisted Freeze, which was a regular Baja Blast Freeze served with a shot of rum, tequila, or vodka[30]. Many new Taco Bell Cantina restaurants have opened in the years since, and the Twisted Freeze became a staple menu item. The specific brands of liquor used for the Twisted Freeze vary for each location, with some reports suggesting whiskey being an additional option at select Cantinas.
Sangrita Blast Freeze
Beginning in May 2015, participating Taco Bell locations began offering Mountain Dew Sangrita Blast Freeze, an icy variant of Sangrita Blast, replacing the preexisting Snapple Lemonade Freeze. It was discontinued at the beginning of September 2015 and was replaced by the Starburst Cherry Freeze.
Baja Blast Birthday Freeze
From October 17th, 2019[31], to November 20th, 2019, the Baja Blast Birthday Freeze was released for a limited time. It was released to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Mountain Dew Baja Blast. This birthday-themed variant consisted of the Baja Blast Freeze with added candy sprinkles.
Baja Blast Cherry Smash Freeze
Baja Blast Cherry Smash Freeze is a canceled variant of Baja Blast Freeze. Originally leaked from a Taco Bell marketing survey in late 2020, it was canceled, potentially being replaced by the Baja Blast Colada Freeze.
Baja Blast Colada Freeze
On May 20th, 2021[32], another freeze variant was released called the Baja Blast Colada Freeze. This release consists the Baja Blast Freeze with a swirl of piña colada-inspired tropical cream.
Baja Blast Dream Freeze/Strawberry Dream Freeze
Released for a limited time on January 16th, 2025[33] alongside the Dirty/Dirty Zero* Sugar, Baja Blast Dream Freeze[34] is the classic Baja Blast Freeze blended with vanilla crème, while Baja Blast Strawberry Dream Freeze[35] adds a swirl of wild strawberry freeze for extra sweetness for the happier hour from 2 - 5 PM every day. Both Freeze drinks are inspired by the "Dirty soda" trend.
Both were later discontinued as both online listings stated: "This item is not currently available. Check out the rest of our menu and find something new to love."

Diet Baja Blast

Baja Blast Non-Alcoholic Bubbly
On November 14th, 2016, Taco Bell gave an exclusive bottle of Baja Blast Non-Alcoholic Bubbly to the first fifty people attending the grand opening of the Taco Bell Cantina restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada[36]. Baja Blast Zero Sugar
In early December 2018, to replace an underperforming flavor, Spiked (Lemonade), a zero-sugar variant of Baja Blast returned to Taco Bell restaurants, reformulated and renamed under a new name: Baja Blast Zero Sugar. It was released to Taco Bell locations nationwide by March 2019.
Baja Blast Zero Sugar first saw a retail limited-time release in 2020 alongside Baja Blast. It used a slightly different formula than the fountain version. The fountain version contains aspartame, while the packaged version does not (instead only utilizing sucralose for artificial sweeteners). Baja Blast Zero Sugar was once again released in retail stores in 2021, 2022, and 2023, before releasing in January of 2024 as a permanent zero-sugar variant.
Sangrita Blast
Main article: Sangrita BlastFollowing the success of Baja Blast, the Citrus Punch flavored Sangrita Blast was exclusively released to Taco Bell restaurants in December 2013 in the United States, alongside Diet Baja Blast. The drink remained at Taco Bell locations until 2017, when it was discontinued, possibly due to low sales. Sangrita Blast also received a limited-time only retail release as well as a Freeze in 2015.
Baja Flash and Baja Punch
Main article: Baja Flash Main article: Baja PunchStarting in 2021 and continuing yearly through 2024, PepsiCo released two new unique tropical flavors with Baja Blast-esque undertones (commonly referred to as the community as "Baja Spinoff" flavors. Main article: Baja Mango Gem Main article: Baja Gold2022's Baja Spinoffs were similar in color of the two previous drinks, but still featured two new flavors, Baja Mango Gem and Baja Gold. Main article: Baja MidnightIn March of 2025 at Live Más LIVE, Baja Midnight, a passionfruit flavor with a dark purple appearance, was announced to be released in Taco Bell restaurants in Summer 2025 to help celebrate Baja Blast's 21st birthday. It was released on August 14, 2025 exclusively at Taco Bell as a permanent flavor in fountain form, alongside a limited-time freeze variant. Baja Midnight replaced Brisk Dragon Paradise. The large-sized cup is based on the original Mountain Dew design.

The American release of Baja Blast also had a 2025 redesign overhaul, which still has yet updated for the Canadian version, a design unchanged since 2019. Halfway through the season, Baja Punch was later released in 20-ounce bottles for a limited time, no longer as a specific store exclusive.

In 2023, for National Hot Sauce Day, on January 22nd, Mountain Dew announced that it had launched a partnership with Houston hot sauce shop iBurn and The Hot Sauce Boss to create a limited-edition hot sauce. The teal colored hot sauce blended the tropical lime taste of Baja Blast with habanero peppers, green chiles, tomatillos, and jalapenos. Only 750 bottles were created and were available as an award through a contest that ran until February 8th, 2023.[48]

Trivia
- Baja Blast's name originates from Baja California, a Mexican state[70] off the southern coast of California. The state is known for its countless beaches.
- Baja Blast is one of the several restaurant exclusives designed to complement with their food[3]. Others include (but may not be limited to) Taco Bell's Baja Midnight with Mexican-inspired food[71], Which Wich's Vibe with sandwiches[72], KFC's Sweet Lightning with Southern-inspired food[73], Applebee's Dark Berry Bash with Burgers[74], Little Caesars's Mango Rush with Pizza[75], Bojangles's Southern Shock with Fried Chicken and Buttermilk Biscuits[76], and Buffalo Wild Wings's Legend with Burgers and other Bar food and Sauces[77].
- Baja Blast is the first Franchise Exclusive flavor. Similar to Code Red's impact of inspiring new flavors on the main lineup, Baja Blast followed suit to inspire new franchise exclusive flavors along the way, which didn't take off until nowadays, such as the creation of these flavors like 2021's Thrashed Apple.
- Franchise exclusive flavors have become a staple of Mountain Dew's lineup because they create opportunities to have a business bond between the franchisee and PepsiCo. After the discontinuation of underperforming flavors back in 2019, PepsiCo thought to make new flavors exclusive to a franchise without overpacking store shelves, which explains the underperforming flavors.
- The freeze version of Baja Blast is the only Mountain Dew freeze available exclusively at U.S. and CA Taco Bell restaurants.
- Baja Blast is one of the prime interests[78] in the classic YouTube prank video "Operation: Soda Steal,"[79] as it was still a Taco Bell exclusive drink in 2008 when the video was made.
- Operation: Soda Steal gained massive amounts of attention, eventually leading to a response from the official Mountain Dew Facebook account in May 2014[80], poking fun at the idea of "Baja Bootleggers."
- In the 2000s, Taco Bell did a few sweepstakes promotions related to Baja Blast.
- In 2005[81], the first promotion called "Drink a Baja Blast and You Could Win a Million Pesos" was launched. This promotion was available for Large and Extra Large drinks. Customers had to find an alphanumeric code located on the side of their cup and enter it online on the Baja Blast website. Participants had the chance to win cash prizes, including the grand prize of one million pesos (approximately $88,000 at that time), which was awarded to one randomly selected winner from all eligible entries received.
- In 2007[82], a second promotion called "Live the Good Life of El Presidente" was launched. The main difference between this promotion and the first one was the opportunity to win one million pesos (approximately $94,000 at that time), along with a year's supply of Taco Bell food, Baja Blast beverages, and a corporate jet trip to Taco Bell's headquarters in California.[83]
- In April 2009[84], a third promotion called "The Blast for Cash," which focused on their Large and Extra Large Baja Blast cups. When customers purchased a Large or Extra Large Baja Blast, they had the chance to win $25 for every five minutes of the promotion. To participate, all they needed to do was enter a code from the cup on the Baja Blast website. By entering the code, they could win $25 in cash.
- During that promotion, there was a game called "Surfing for Dollars," where you play as a surfer, grabbing as much money as you can without wiping yourself out. The game is playable on Flashpoint Archive's archive of online Flash games.
- Around the same time, Rhett & Link, the hosts of Good Mythical Morning on YouTube, released a music video, showing them in a car in a Taco Bell drive thru titled "Fast Food Folk Song,"[85] which also mentioned the "The Blast for Cash" promotion, as it was sponsored by Taco Bell.
- Years after that video, Rhett and Link created many videos testing different Mountain Dew flavors, one of which was if Baja Blast could be used as a sauce for various foods.[86]
- Before Baja Blast's 2014 limited-time Summertime release, there was a trend in 2012[87] that claimed you could mix either Powerade Mountain Berry Blast or Gatorade Cool Blue into Original Mountain Dew. It was supposed to "taste like Baja Blast."
- This trend would catch on in the following years and is still prominent by today's standards by making different Homemade Baja Blast recipes, such as adding different ratios of Sprite, Lime syrup, Powerade/Gatorade's other flavors, and several others.
- After the trend had gotten into full swing, many people started to ridicule[88] this trend, saying that the Homemade Baja Blast mixture "doesn't taste like Baja Blast" with many pointing out that the ingredients used to make this mix are fundamentally different than the ingredients of Baja Blast itself.
- Until Baja Blast's first official market release in the summer of 2014, many people had speculated on the internet whether such a release would ever take place, and numerous images of fake bottles had circulated over time.
- There was a Baja Blast "Dye Hard" shirt that fans were able to buy[89] that contradicted the permanent release of Baja Blast in its 20th Bajaversary. The shirt reads: "MAKE MTN DEW BAJA BLAST AVAILABLE IN STORES ALL THE TIME." It was introduced in 2018 and was delisted in 2024.
- The Dew Drinker Discord server has continuously leaked information regarding Baja Blast's re-releases months in advance.
- In The Philippines, Taco Bell released a drink titled Aqua Blast in 2019[90] and 2022[91]. It has an adjacent familiar aquamarine appearance and similar branding to Baja Blast, but lacks any Mountain Dew branding.
- There is also a Hard Mountain Dew variant released in August 2024 in The Philippines called Beach Blast.[92]
- Yum! Brands, a spin-off company of PepsiCo, operates various combination restaurants that feature exclusive flavors from individual chains. For example, Taco Bell offers exclusive flavors, such as Baja Blast and Baja Midnight, while KFC serves Sweet Lightning. These combination restaurants have different pairings, such as KFC/Taco Bell, KFC/A&W, Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, and others. At these locations, customers can enjoy Baja Blast, Baja Midnight, and Sweet Lightning in one location.[93]
- Baja Blast has a very similar name to Maui Burst, Dollar General's Franchise Exclusive flavor which initially released in 2019. Both have a similar ring in their names, although this is likely just a coincidence.
- The first Baja companion flavors, Baja Flash and Baja Punch, were originally called "Baja Blast Pineapple Punch" and "Baja Blast Tahitian Twist." These names were scrapped, potentially due to their long length as well as "Tahitian Twist" being overly similar to the Canada Dry drink "Tahitian Treat."
- During the Summer 2021 limited-time release, there used to be Baja-inspired room scent sprays[94] by Baja Blast, Baja Punch, and Baja Flash. When you spray the scents up in the air, it would smell like the flavor.
- Due to the popularity of Baja Blast in the United States, this flavor has turned into its own branded Baja Blast merchandising. Baja Blast has multiple products, such as a Hard alcoholic beer, Baja-themed room scent sprays, foods, such as Baja Blast Pie, and other products.
- Once PepsiCo made Baja Blast its own brand, meme images revolved around Gerber's Baja Blast baby food[95] and other unofficial products, such as a scented candle[96], Italian Ice Cream[97] , and even a black "Thin Baja Blast Line" flag[98] with a purple version[99] afterward, showing how popular and mainstream this flavor is nowadays.
- From February 2022 until January 2024, fans could get Baja Blast as a permanent flavor in the U.S. only as a Hard alcoholic variant.
- Speaking of alcohol, other beers[100] were created and inspired by Baja Blast, made by various brewing companies.
- When Baja Blast made its 2024 permanent release, many people thought that it was for one year only because PepsiCo branded that you could "Celebrate with MTN DEW BAJA BLAST all year long," in addition to another leak stating that it's a "permanent item for 2024."[101]
- As stated before, PepsiCo was hesitant to use the word "permanent" because of the low sales of previous winning flavors, such as DEWmocracy 2's White Out, DEWcision 2016's Pitch Black, and FanDEWmonium's Diet Supernova.
- To withstand this rumor, Team Supernova's sources stated that it would be permanent and beyond, additionally a no-end date from a document[102] and a size expansion of 2-liter bottles[103], 24-packs of 12-ounce cans nationwide and 12-packs of 16.9-ounce bottles in Walmart in 2025, only for the full sugar formula[104] and a leaked redesign[105] for the 2025 Mountain Dew logo rebrand.
- After Baja Blast was made permanent in cans and bottles, it was no longer exclusive to Taco Bell while technically still being sold in Taco Bell while being released nationwide. The fountain version of Baja Blast is also no longer exclusive in a similar vein.[106]
- Baja Blast has been featured in two Super Bowl commercials, the first in 2024 for its 20th "Bajaversary" and the second in 2025.
- Following the airing of the 2025 commercial, it became a topic of discussion during the commercial break and across social media. It ultimately won "The Second-Screen Sensation" award from Ipsos, a market research company.[107]
- A limited edition #KissFromALime vinyl was created for Mountain Dew fans who purchased a variety 18-pack of Original Mountain Dew and Baja Blast on the Mountain Dew TikTok Shop[108]. The vinyl was included for free with the purchase and was available while supplies lasted.
- Seal done a giveaway on Instagram[109], where he offered a signed vinyl. He encouraged his fans to share their favorite line from his parody song by leaving a comment in the comment section for a chance to win a signed #KissFromALime vinyl.
- Seal did a follow-up post[110] and announced the winner, autographed the vinyl saying: "Thank you for your love, support, and being a good sport."
- Seal done a giveaway on Instagram[109], where he offered a signed vinyl. He encouraged his fans to share their favorite line from his parody song by leaving a comment in the comment section for a chance to win a signed #KissFromALime vinyl.
- When the "dirty soda" trend peaked in 2025, several restaurants began on releasing exclusive Dirty Mountain Dew variants for a limited time.
- Participating restaurants included Taco Bell's Dirty Baja Blast and its Zero Sugar* version alongside the Baja Blast Dream Freeze and Strawberry Dream Freeze from January through June; Applebee's Dirty Dark Berry Bash in March and later added a Passion Blue Dew version in August 2025; Papa John's 'Cini Dirty Soda in May; and KFC's Peaches & Cream Sweet Lightning. All dirty variants were limited-time offerings except Dark Berry Bash and its Passion Blue Dew counterpart.
- At the 2025 Live Más LIVE event, Taylor Frankie Paul received the "Menu Hack of the Year" award from Taco Bell for her October 5th, 2024, TikTok video[111] titled "Dirty Mountain Dew Baja Blast Dream Soda," which featured coffee creamer[112] added to Baja Blast.
- Taco Bell's Baja Blast Dream Freeze and Baja Blast Strawberry Dream Freeze are the only Mountain Dew Freeze varieties designed to be creamy.
- Papa John's 'Cini Dirty Soda was the only completely different "Dirty" variant; unlike the typical creamy dirty sodas, it used pepperoncini brine instead of cream.
- Other soda companies, such as Keurig Dr Pepper and Coca-Cola Company, had released some Creamy variants in line with the "Dirty" soda trend, and with some flavors before the trend went viral.
- Keurig Dr Pepper has introduced several creamy flavors in recent years, including three permanent additions: Dr Pepper Vanilla Float for a limited time in summer 2014 before being regionally released in 2018, Dr Pepper & Cream Soda in March 2020, and Dr Pepper Strawberries & Cream in February 2023. Additionally, Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut was also released in Summer 2024 and 2025 for a limited time, and a limited-time vanilla cream variant in KFC in June 2025.[113]
- Nestle's Coffe-Mate[114] and Keurig Dr Pepper did a collab to release a Coconut Lime flavored coffee creamer designed to be mixed with original Dr Pepper for a limited time in March 2024, and returned in high demand in May 2025, during the Summer, alongside a new Orange Creme Pop flavored coffee creamer[115] designed to be mixed with Crush Orange for a limited time.
- The Coca-Cola Company has introduced several creamy flavors in recent years, including two then-permanent additions: Coca-Cola Orange Vanilla in February 2019, followed by Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla in February 2020. Both were discontinued a few years later. In February 2025, Coca-Cola Orange Cream was released, a different Orange Vanilla flavor.
- When Coca-Cola Orange Cream was released in February 2025, the Coca-Cola Company initially withheld its status (limited-time or permanent) but would remain on sale at least through the first quarter of 2026[116], due to the previous marketing misstep of positioning Coca-Cola Spiced as a permanent flavor.
- Baja Blast, Baja Midnight, Baja Cabo Citrus, Baja Blue Surge, and Baja 'Merica Melon are the only five flavors in the 2025 brand redesign that retain their custom-made logos, while other flavor redesigns use a custom font called "Dewnium Bold," opting to remove mascots: Maui Burst's Pineapple mascots, Purple Thunder's Plum Lucky, Barry Biker mascot, and all other flavors that featured them. These flavors instead opt for the flavors ingrained in the text.
- Promotional material can be found here.[117]
- Similar to the 2018 U.S. Taco Bell Baja Blast Zero Sugar fountain release, Blue Zero Sugar, along with this flavor, was introduced before the Original Zero Sugar was released in both countries and both flavors had a different logo than Original Zero Sugar.
- After 2025's brand redesign, a second redesign for Baja Blast began to be used in various advertisements and marketing posts that featured the word "Baja" significantly larger than in the original 2025 redesign for Baja Blast. Shortly thereafter, renders of the second redesign for Baja Blast began to surface online as well, including renders of Baja Midnight, signaling that PepsiCo intends to roll this new design out to replace the first 2025 redesign.
- After 2025's brand redesign there was a common misconception in the community that "Baja Blast Tropical Lime" was a new flavor or a new variant of Baja Blast as a result of fans misreading the label and reading the flavor text as part of the flavor name. Despite this, the formula for Baja Blast was not changed during the 2025 redesign nor is it a new flavor.
