Istanbul Turkish Hello, Would you please tell me what the phrase "being good looking" means? Context: You see, there is a profound difference between "being good looking" versus "looking good" I can't find the source where I read the sentence above. Thank you in advance.morzh

USA Russian A good-looking person is a handsome person, or a beautiful person (meaning the appearance, of course, not the inner world). - This girl is really good-looking! A looking good person, or anything, just "looks good", that is "it is OK". Often it means "an OK person", a "person that fits", "a person that will do". Or "the prospects are good". - So what do you think of him? - He looks good. We can hire him. - Things are looking good for him. If he keeps playing like he does now, the scouts will sure notice him, and then the skies are the limit! Last edited: Feb 19, 2012 EEgmont

Massachusetts, U.S. English - U.S. "Looking good" can also be said about someone who is recovering from illness or injury. "You're looking good today - you'll be back playing rugby soon!"economistegypt2010

Egypt, مصر Arabic, العربية Is the underlined sentence means that everything is going well with him or something like that (It represents about the present) or means that if he keeps playing, everything would be gone with him. (It represents about the future)morzh said: A good-looking person is a handsome person, or a beautiful person (meaning the appearance, of course, not the inner world). - Things are looking good for him.
