I've always figured if you can suck it in, it's not a bump. I know one should look when laying flat like in bed, and I know everybody's different etc. But if you're standing, and let's assume you're not uber bloated or just ate a lot and haven't gone to the bathroom yet, what does the belly look like when you "suck it in"?

In fact, if you "know" you're showing and it's early, I'd LOVE to see your bump pics when you're trying to hold it in. I'm 13w3d, first pregnancy, and told I have a posterior facing uterus, so I'm pretty sure it's gonna take a while for me. But I can definitely tell my body is changing.

You can suck in belly bump early on. There's not much there and you squish in everything. Even later in pregnancy you can suck in a tiny bitJJerseyMama

I can suck in my bump some. You can definitely still tell I'm pregnant, but if I suck in I'm removing the air and tightening everything to an unnatural position. Before I was pregnant, I could suck in to look totally emaciated, but that doesn't mean I didn't have organs. My normal state was how I looked before unnaturally sucking in. I'm 16w4d, there is no hiding it anymore, but I can definitely "make" my bump bigger or smaller depending on my posture, tigtening, sucking in, etc (just like before pregnancy, but bigger).AAmb4820142220140

You can suck in! It's by no means comfortable and the only thing for me that goes in is near the ribs.the bottom part doesn't go in at all.sshiloh1214

I can suck in a tiny bit, but it's not comfortable in the least, neither is trying to push it out more, which are both things I could do with my tummy easily before pregnancy or very early on. kkat_heg

I can suck my tummy in but only the bit at the top though, between belly button and rib cage, which is just belly flab not baby bump! Definitely more uncomfortable to suck my tummy in now.jjoyswims

Awesome, thank you ladies! Guess my 1st-timer-ness is showing lol I'm glad to hear, helps me feel better about my stage in this now. I can pull in the same as you've described, mostly belly button upwards.
