What do you guys think would be the easiest flavor to handle (I have to drink 64 oz and don't want something TOO intense that I will get sick of after about half of that)! profile picture onebumgut Regular Member Joined : Jul 2005 Posts : 202 Posted 3/24/2010 4:02 PM (GMT -5) I used the Lemon Lime flavor. The drugstores usually have a little side cap with all of the needs for the prep at hand. I think the lemon lime is good since you are not supposed to use red or purple. I did this prep about a month ago and it was really easy compared to all of the other preps. I did get a bit nauseous towards the last 2 cups or so, so I dont think it would matter what flavor you pick. I think its just your stomach sooo full of liquid. Good luck. profile picture Anthony1977 Regular Member Joined : Jan 2009 Posts : 413 Posted 3/24/2010 4:03 PM (GMT -5) I usually buy two 32oz of different flavors ;) I think you can't have the red ones, so that threw out the fruit punch for me, but I took the Lemonade one and some green thing ... not sure if it is still around, but it tasted friggin awesome. profile picture 80sChick Veteran Member Joined : Oct 2009 Posts : 1054 Posted 3/24/2010 4:15 PM (GMT -5) That was the one I did last time too and it was so easy I coulnd't believe it! I couldn't taste the Mirilax at all, so I'd say just go with whatever Gatorade you like best. It's maybe a good idea to get 2 different kinds just to break it up. I like orange myself. profile picture AMK77 Veteran Member Joined : Mar 2008 Posts : 678 Posted 3/24/2010 4:40 PM (GMT -5) I use orange. profile picture Malkavian Veteran Member Joined : Mar 2009 Posts : 1439 Posted 3/24/2010 5:29 PM (GMT -5) Remember you need to be careful about the dye color. Usually lemon-lime is recommended, but you want to use something yellow, green or clear. If you want to, sprite or ginger ale instead of gatorade works too. profile picture kops2da Veteran Member Joined : Jun 2008 Posts : 2865 Posted 3/24/2010 8:37 PM (GMT -5) Remember if you substitute something like gingerale, etc. you don't get the electrolytes in Gatorade or PowerAde. I hate them all - just tolerated 2/3 of lemon and then blue - yuck!

The prep might be less thick. profile picture at wit's end Veteran Member Joined : Jun 2007 Posts : 569 Posted 2/25/2013 6:07 PM (GMT -5) I used orange. Tasted better to me. Don't like lemon lime. profile picture ByeByeUC Veteran Member Joined : Feb 2011 Posts : 4593 Posted 2/25/2013 6:46 PM (GMT -5) I forget the name of it but its light blue color. Artic ice or Icy blast something like that. Just don't drink anything that's red or purple in color. profile picture janey47 Veteran Member Joined : Sep 2010 Posts : 765 Posted 2/25/2013 7:12 PM (GMT -5) I used Vitamin Water because I like it better, there are more flavors in acceptable colors, and it has less sugar. And my doc said it was fine to use. profile picture katarzyna Regular Member Joined : Dec 2012 Posts : 336 Posted 2/26/2013 12:16 AM (GMT -5) I went with my favorite Gatorade flavor: Cool Blue. It masked the prep perfectly for me that I was able to drink it and somewhat enjoy the it! profile picture linden016 Regular Member Joined : Sep 2009 Posts : 78 Posted 2/26/2013 10:06 AM (GMT -5) I buy the Gatorade powder and use orange. You can then make it as sweet as you like. I try to dilute it as much as I can . It really helps. profile picture MNBeachgal Veteran Member Joined : Jun 2008 Posts : 921 Posted 2/26/2013 10:52 AM (GMT -5) I was always told you can use red, purple or blue. So I've always just bought the lemon-lime. I don't like it, but then again after using it for the prep I really never want to drink it again as it just reminds me of the prep. So I'd rather have a flavor I don't really like anyway. I drink G2 at the gym so I don't want to use that for the prep, or I'd never want to drink it again :) profile picture quincy Moderator Joined : May 2003 Posts : 34190 Posted 2/26/2013 11:47 AM (GMT -5) NO red, blue or purple (MN..or is that a typo?)......from what I understand. but I don't use anything except the gallon preps and wouldn't do a flavour either.q profile picture Probiotic Veteran Member Joined : Mar 2007 Posts : 2832 Posted 2/26/2013 11:59 AM (GMT -5) Have never used flavoring with my prep. Hate the flavor but no biggie. I'd drink and put up with drinking pee or crap if it could cure my IBD. (Not ever gonna drink the latter but might try the 2 oz drinking ones own pee like some indians and japanese used to do, for kicks and giggles i e as part if my endless trial and error quest.). Years back I drank some TCM tea concoctions that tasted far worse than cscope prep, no issues. profile picture katarzyna Regular Member Joined : Dec 2012 Posts : 336 Posted 2/26/2013 12:08 PM (GMT -5) I've been told that you cannot use red or purple but blue was oddly allowed, which of course, I was thankful for since I didn't really like the other flavors, lol. profile picture IndianaUC Regular Member Joined : Feb 2007 Posts : 212 Posted 2/26/2013 3:07 PM (GMT -5) I drank mine with orange Powerade and chased it with this kiwi fruit drink I actually found at Walmart in the juice isle. It came in a gallon sized jug. Pure juice and water. The Mirilax was a breeze compared to that magnesium citrate I couldn't keep down. I didn't care how thick it was and how weird it was....it *wasn't* magnesium citrate & that's all I cared about. :) profile picture at wit's end Veteran Member Joined : Jun 2007 Posts : 569 Posted 2/26/2013 9:44 PM (GMT -5) Know what you are talking about IndianaUC. My magnesium citrate came back up also. I think the Dulcolax and Miralax are really enough to clean one out without the magnesium citrate. So disgusting. profile picture Teddtlove Veteran Member Joined : Jan 2013 Posts : 1038 Posted Yesterday 6:04 AM (GMT -5) I mix the magnesium citrate with a sprite. I find it so much more palatable. Just taste like really lemony sprite. It has to be rally cold though. profile picture Serenity Now Veteran Member Joined : Jan 2009 Posts : 2842 Posted Yesterday 11:47 AM (GMT -5) The first time I used the magnesium citrate I mixed it with something like sprite but I found since it is carbonated that mixing it with another carbonated drink was too much. So then I tried something non-carbonated - hated that too. So then I just drank it straight. Didn't hate it any more or any less. Let's face it, I just HATE that stuff. HATE it. profile picture Big Dog Regular Member Joined : Aug 2008 Posts : 62 Posted Today 11:17 PM (GMT -5) After our Montana doctor prescribed Go Lytely (lemon lime) for all four of daughter's colonoscopies, I was surprised when her California surgeon said to go to the drugstore and buy an 8 oz (238 g) bottle of powdered Miralax and put it in one bottle of orange Gatorade. I had tasted all four of the previous batches (Lord, that is awful stuff) and I tasted this orange Gatorade with the Miralax. I'm not going to tell you it was great but it was drinkable to the point that our girl drank it in less than 10 minutes the night before her surgery. It's the way to go and costs about $11. You mix the entire powdered bottle up. ✚ New Topic ✚ Reply
