ORIGIN Betty White was an American actress, comedian, and animal rights activist. She began show business in the 1950s and was best known for ‘The Mary Tyler More Show’ and ‘The Golden Girls’. Betty was born to parents Horace and Tess White on January 17, 1922, in Oak Park, Illinois. She grew up in Los Angeles where she attended Beverly Hills High School.

CAREER White made her feature film debut in the 1962 drama, Advise & Consent, directed by Otto Preminger. She later appeared in various sitcoms, game shows, and more recently as a host on Saturday Night Live.
