Background[]

Bill Cipher is an evil, sadistic, and triangular being from the 2nd Dimension, which he personally burned to the ground out of boredom a trillion years ago. His real name is physically unpronounceable, as hearing it would instantly evaporate anything. Several millennia ago, he heard of a prophecy that stated that he would one day merge the Nightmare Realm with the 3rd Dimension, so he shaped Earth's history and culture for millennia through the Mindscape, all for the sake of wreaking havoc. The moment he had been waiting for came when he had been summoned by a genius scientist and paranormal investigator named Stanford Pines in the small town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. He helped Ford by instructing him on how to build an interdimensional portal, however, Ford eventually realized Bill's evil intentions and tried to deactivate it, but he became increasingly paranoid over Bill's influence over his mind. He told his twin brother Stanley to hide the last secret blueprint of the portal, but during a fistfight between the two twins, Ford was lost on the other side and the portal was destroyed. Bill had to lay in waiting for several decades, until the Pines twins Dipper and Mabel Pines showed up in Gravity Falls, and eventually gave Stan the chance to repair the portal and bring his brother back. After Ford was brought back, Bill managed to convince Mabel to break a rift, the last remnant of the portal, which fused the Nightmare Realm with the real world and finally gave him the chance to gain a 3D body and the ability to unleash his WEIRDMAGGEDON upon the whole universe!

Powers & Abilities[]

Nigh-Omnipotence: Bill Is pretty near omnipotent, he is a two-dimensional interdimensional being made of pure energy, he is a dream demon, and a chaotic god. he can do anything that will make you uncomfortable. After the interdimensional rift was opened, Bill gained a physical body and possessed almost god-like power within the mortal realm. He could project energy blasts, transmute matter, regenerate his body when injured and manipulate his own shape and size. widely regarded as one of the most dangerous entities in existence, and a threat to the greater multiverse itself.

• Nigh-Omnipresence: Bills following are sightings of his Eye of Providence outside his physical appearance. he can also use his own transportation powers.
  • Dimensional Travel: Bill is shown to be capable of creating portals to exit his pyramid at a moment’s notice, and through his existence in the Mindscape, Nightmare Realm, and other dimensions.
  • Teleportation: Bill has shown the ability to disappear into thin air, and somehow appeared behind Dipper while he was looking directly at Bill.

• Nigh-Omniscience: Bill possesses vast knowledge of many things in existence, and sees the secret of the universe (but it does not mean he doesn't know everything in the universe). however, he is not entirely omniscient, as he has been tricked multiple times in the past. he can also use his whole body as a projector, displaying past (Retrocognition) and future events as live video footage.
  • Clairvoyance: Bill possesses the ability to see potential scenarios through precognition. He’s also aware of other dimensions.
  • Precognition: Bill can see a kaleidoscope of temporal probability with fluctuating range. Granting him the ability to see the future.

• Deals-Making Handshake: One of Bill's most noticeable abilities is that he can make a contract with someone to give the said person who made a deal with him fame, power, or a request. Bill's hand becomes surrounded in a blue flame and, once the person exchanges a handshake, while the flame doesn't harm the person, the deal will be sealed. However, once the deal is sealed, Bill will want something in return that often ends up in his twisted methods. If the person breaks the deal, Bill's powers won't have any effects on them, as Gideon broke his deal when Bill failed to get the combination for the safe. Also, making deals is the only way Bill's powers could have an effect but only to the ones who made a deal with him.

• Reality Warping: Another one of Bill's most noticeable traits is his power to manipulate the laws of reality. Bill can transform organic matter, disorient the physical world, and cause a ripple in the space-time continuum. After breaking the Nightmare Realm, Bill's powers grew stronger to the point where he can manipulate reality on a cosmic scale.
  • Animation: Bill can bring inanimate objects to life.
  • Entrapment: Bill can lock people the dream bubbles, there so they don’t escape; a strong mental fortitude however, can help dispel the temptations provided by these bubbles.
  • Fourth Wall Awareness: Bill is aware of the real world and can see us. Changed the entire intro of the show after Weirdmageddon started and also changed the text Created by Alex Hirsch into Created by Bill Cipher. Was able to possess Alex and make a Reddit account for himself. Spoke to the viewer in the Complete Box Series.
  • Gravity Manipulation: Bill's top hat changes the gravity of the Earth to whatever the angle of his hat is.
  • Illusion Creation: Bill was able to create and trap Mabel in Mabeland, filled with illusions made to Mabel’s liking. Mabel was only able to dispel said illusions after reconciling with Dipper.
  • Matter Manipulation: Bill can manipulate matter at the molecular level. which is supported by him threatening to disassemble Dipper and Mabel's molecules.
  • Petrification: Bill can turn people into statues of the material of his choice.
  • Pocket Reality Manipulation: Bill is able to send people into dream bubbles. These small pocket dimensions are able to be controlled by Bill as he sees fit.
  • Conjuration/Summoning: Bill can create almost anything from his twisted imagination. It can range from something as small as a head that is always screaming to a galaxy based on what Bill said to Stanley in his last moments.
  • Telekinesis: Bill can lift and move objects and living beings with his mind.
  • Space Manipulation: Bill has the ability to control and manipulate space entirely. he is showed to be able to freely move in space. Took a clock out of nowhere while acting like a wormhole, redirecting Mabel back to her original location after she entered inside of him.
  • Time Manipulation: Bill can control, slow down or stop time entirely. When starting Weirdmageddon stated that time was dead while showing a clock and birds slowing down until stopping, later Blendin described the place as "time dodge". Killing Time Baby gave him improved control over time. Listed Making time stop forever as fun.
  • Transmutation: Could rearrange the functions of every hole on Preston's face.
  • Weather Manipulation: Bill can create miniaturized clouds that shoot out lightning. He can also utilize electricity as a form of an offensive attack.

• Shapeshifting: Bill can switch his form between 2D to 3D. capable of transforming into any form he pleases, particularly enjoys turning into his opponents greatest fear.
  • Mimicry: Bill can turn into Soos and tricked Mabel and Dipper by mimicking his voice perfectly,
  • Monster Form: He can even change into a demonic form with spider-like traits.
  • Size Manipulation: Bill can grow into an enormous or gigantic size and can return to his normal size at will. He is able to increase the size of his body parts as he did with his fist.

• Duplication: Bill Is able to make several versions of himself and control all of them. Briefly demonstrated in his battle against Shacktron by making several exact clones himself to confuse it.

• Nightmare Realm: Bill lived in and made nightmare realm his new home. the nightmare realm is a seething and intergalactic foam between dimensions where bill resided after destroying his origin universe, the second dimension. Took over the Nightmare Realm, a plane between all other realms which is completely unbound by physical laws or rules, and is thus fated to eventually destroy itself.
  • Weirdmageddon: Bill within the confines of Gravity Falls, was able to unravel the fabric of reality and induce weirdness on a near cosmic scale, inducing a cataclysmic event known as Weirdmageddon.
  • Weirdness Bubbles: Created bubbles of pure madness that can make people go insane, and distort whatever enters them in completely unknown, different, and random ways (Ex. Dipper and Wendy were temporarily turned into birds, anime characters, deli meat, and even live-action. Gideon and Ghost Eyes were turned into basic polygonal characters, women, and a silent cartoon.)
  • Weirdness Wave: Created a wave of weirdness that caused different effects to occur on anyone and anything it hits (Spawned a tentacle in Soos' backyard, turned his grill into a monster, made Soos' grandmother into a chair, made Gompers the goat grow to an immense size, animated the church bell into a living thing, etc.).

• Mindscape: Bill is able to transport himself into a different dimension called the mindscape, which is an astral and cognitive plane of existence. Bill can exit and enter the Mindscape with his soul whenever he wants, and in doing so he can also enter people's minds or even affect their very souls.
  • Astral Projection: Bill can remove himself from his physical form to enter the mindscape and his physical form will become stone.
  • Dream Manipulation: Living up to being called the "Dream Demon", as Bill makes a deal with someone, he can enter their dreams. He entered Stan Pines' mind to get the combination to the safe after making a deal with Gideon.
  • Invisability: Bill Implied that Mindscape beings are normally invisible.
  • Mind Control: Bill can also now mind control people when he wants, leaving them as flying puppets with no consciousness.
  • Possession: Another way if someone makes a deal with someone, Bill can possess a host who made a deal with him. While in the host's body, their eyes turn into Bill's.
  • Reincarnation/Self-Resurrection: Bill has some capacity to ‘survive’ even being erased as an idea. he uses some spell to be resurrected himself to take the form as an all-powerful extra-dimensional axolotl.
  • Sleep Inducement: Bill was able to put Mabel to sleep after she unintentionally freed him while he was possessing Blendin with just a snap of his fingers.
  • Soul Manipulation: Bill can remove a person's soul from their bodies, as he removed Dipper's soul from his body so he could possess it.
  • Telepathy: Bill can read a person's thoughts.

• Flight: Bill can hover and float freely.

• Phasing: Bill has shown the ability to phase or become intangible such as phasing through a ceiling to talk to Dipper.

• Energy Manipulation: Bill can manipulate various types of energy.
  • Electricity Manipulation: Bill can also zap his opponents with electricity.
  • Fire Manipulation: Bill has been shown to use fire when he burned all three of Ford's journals with a snap of a finger.
  • Force Field Creation: Bill has shown himself to be able to create a small field around himself to defend against physical attacks. This forcefield repels people away from Bill as shown when Dipper went to punch Bill before getting pushed away.
  • Finger Gun: Bill can fire a beam of energy with his finger gun which blew a hole in Dipper's stomach.
  • Heat Vision: Bill has been shown to be able to fire lasers from his eye.
  • Disintegration: Bill can easily vaporize Time Baby and the Time Police.

• Quantum Uncertainty: Bill is existing in a state of quantum uncertainty, thus making manipulations of quantum particles ineffective against him.
  • Immortality: Bill is a trillion years older than the galaxy itself.
  • Regeneration: Bill can repair himself if he gets injured, such as his physical form including his own spirit, his limbs, and his eye. However, he stated it takes an hour for his eye to regrow.

• Took down the entire weaponized Mystery Shack.
• Ripped off the Mecha's leg and sends it flying.
• Created a giant crater and a large amount of light from the impact of his enlarged fist.

• Was able to create an entire pocket dimension called Mabel Land.

• Created a rip in are dimension, which was stated to be capable of destroying the very fabric of existence (Didn't really create it, Mabel did. But Bill tricked her)

  • Without the Nightmare Realm holding him back, given enough time, Bill's power threatened the multiverse.

• Made two planets crash together in order to "make them kiss".
• Heavily implied to be able to destroy galaxies, although the exact circumstances on how he would do that are unknown.
• Lifted the Fearamid.
• Implied to sustain the Rift itself due to his death causing it to close and all of its effects being reverted shortly after.
• Fought and defeated the Shacktron, which was being empowered by an interdimensional portal that is powerful enough to shake the entire Nightmare Realm.
  • Ripped off its leg and sent it flying with a single swing.
• Even after the end of Weirdmaggedon, Gravity Falls was still left with several dimensional rips that are directly connected to the Nightmare Realm and other universes.

Speed[]

• Can throw a barrage of punches with multiple arms in seconds.
• Rapidly close gaps of several meters.
• Can easily chase down and capture the two kids Dipper and Mabel Pines.
  • Keep in mind that Mabel is able to manuever and dodge with a vehicle at speeds faster than sound (Mach 1/767 mph).
• Showed that if he could escape the bubble of Gravity Falls, he would've been able to soar into space and pass by Saturn in just 2 seconds (15 trillion mph/672 trillion miles per sec).
• Due to his control over time and space, he can move as fast as he damn well pleases!
  • Especially when his mind can view an infinite Kaleidoscope of possibilities all at once (according to Alex Hirsch, the creator of Gravity Falls, who was possessed by Bill Cipher when he typed this "I CAN SEE A KALEIDOSCOPE OF TEMPORAL PROBABILITY WITH FLUCTUATING RANGE! I CAN ALSO SEE THAT THERE ARE INFINITE ALTERNATE VERSIONS OF ME IN INFINITE ALTERNATE DIMENSIONS ANSWERING YOUR QUESTION WITH INFINITE VARIATION! ONE OF THEM ANSWERED BY VOMITING A STREAM OF BLOOD AND PRIME NUMBERS OUT OF HIS THIRD MOUTH!").

• Stated that he is capable of navigating beyond linear chronology.
• Implied to have moved through time to reach and possess Blendin, who lives in the future.
• Fought Time Baby multiple times, who is implied to perceive time as a physical distance.
• Obliterated Time Baby before the latter had a chance to even react to his attack.
• Flew across the collection of doors in Stan’s mindscape at high speeds.
• Blitzed Dipper from afar.
  • Dipper can react to a blast from the Memory Gun, which is stated to shoot beams of radiation.
  • Dipper is also comparable to Gideon, who can move in tandem with light rays.
• Casually flew across planets in his projection, reaching another galaxy in seconds.
  • It’s also shown that he’d be capable of granting Ford cosmic power that allows him to move his enlarged body across the galaxy.
• His Weirdness energy was implied to be fast enough to encompass and destroy the entirety of the universe in a short timeframe.
  • Said explosion could have potentially affected the entire Gravity Falls cosmology, which is infinite, and would breach through the space-time continuum, as well as the temporal 4th dimension.

Durability[]

• Took punches from a four-story mech. 
• Should be as durable as he is strong.
• Would've been fine if the Time Baby were to attack him, based on his relaxed tone to the Time Baby confronting him.
• Endured one of his own laser beams to the eye.
• Survived having his own eye getting ripped out by a dinosaur.
• It's also likely he would've survived the destruction of the entire universe.
• Even while severely weakened, Bill was still durable enough to survive a serious punch from Stanley Pines, who shouldn't be inferior to his family while they were inside the Mindscape.
• Stanford stated that the end of existence caused from Weirdmageddon would be just a game for him.
• Wasn't bothered from Time Baby claiming that the Rift would destroy the fabric of existence even after it was showcased as being a massive explosion.
• Ford stated that he never found any power source strong enough to kill Bill, even though he found one powerful enough to contain the Dimensional Rift.
• Took hits from the Shacktron.
• Adapted to and lived in the Nightmare Realm for 1 trillion years, a place that lacks laws such as physics or causality.
• Able to stay in nuclear testing ranges without adverse effects. Implied to be unaffected from radiation strong enough to melt people.
• Implied to not be affected from time loops and was unaffected by the time paradoxes he and Time Baby caused in their battle.

  • Managed to drive many readers insane with the book, such as Charlie Day and MatPat.
• Imprisoned Scrimbles the Elf inside the book, leading it so when the reader turns the page, they end up crushing him to death.
• Tried to trick the reader into switching bodies with him so that he could take over Gravity Falls and unleash a Weirdmageddon 2.0.
• Implied that he murdered the Oregon Parks ranger Gus Burnside by burning him alive when he started investigating him.
  • This is indirectly confirmed on the Bill Cipher's Personal Injury Hotline where if you press 4, the option for being burned alive, Bill will laugh maniacally and then will say "Sorry Gus!".
• He trapped the Bill Cipher's Personal Injury Hotline operator inside the phone until the heat death of the universe, who can only be freed if the caller agrees to grant him death.
• He attempted to corrupt Soos, and when that failed due to his blind good nature, Bill briefly possessed him to sabotage the website.
• When he came across Robbie and Thompson in the woods, he tormented them by showing how they die before attempting to kill them.
• Spilled all of Stan's darkest secrets out of sheer pettiness for being defeated.
• Trapped Pacifica Northwest in a nightmare and tried to manipulate her into making a deal in an attempt to start Weirdmageddon.
  • It's implied that had the Lumberjack Ghost not intervened, Bill would've killed Pacifica when she refused.
• Trapped Weird Al Yankovic in a computer for all eternity.
• At one point tricked a woman into making a deal with him, causing her to get a tattoo of him on her chest and cause mischief such as pull the teeth from animals' mouths.

Weaknesses[]

• Arrogance: Bill is very arrogant, and thinks highly of his power and ability to see everything.
• Though he's not a total god, and can be wiped out with a fair amount of effort in planning.
• His Eye: His all-seeing eye can just get poked or ripped out like any normal eye.
  • In fact, his eye's the most vulnerable of all his parts physically.
• Unicorn Hair: With the right ingredience, one of which is unicorn hair, a barrier can be made that Bill can't break. While it prevented Bill from entering it cannot nullify his power.
• False Precognition: Bill claims to see everything, but this has proven to be false most of the time. That's how so many of the characters where able to get the drop on him, and ultimatly, that's how Stanley and Stanford were able to swap places and trap Bill inside the wrong Stan's mind. Then, using a memory erasing gun, they were able to wipe Stanley's mind, with Bill inside. This, was what ultimately put an end to weirdmageddon.
• Tinfoil can be used to prevent Bill from entering minds.
• His regeneration seems to take a bit of time as he complained about how long it took him to regenerate his eye.
• His precognition needs to be activated and he often neglects to use said power in combative scenarios, presumably due to hubris.
• While he is in someone's mind, memory erasure can be used to permanently erase him, forcing him to summon the Axolotl to survive.
• Can't access the third dimension physically at first.
• Can only access bodies and conscious minds if he is allowed to through a contract, which involves agreeing to certain terms and shaking Bill's hand, even after gaining a physical form.
• When taking possession of a mortal body, Bill becomes limited to it, subject to pain (which he finds "hilarious"), exhaustion and even the host body's particularities, as evidenced when he was shown to react to Dipper's ticklish areas while in his body.
• Gravity Falls' bubble of weirdness thwarts Bill's powers.
• The prophecy of the zodiac can also defeat him.
• Has an odd phobia of Venetian blinds.
• Prone to getting tricked himself.
  • Accidentally entered Stanley's mind instead of Ford's because the two had swapped clothes and was subsequently erased along with Stanley's mind by a memory gun.
  • Manages to trick Xgqrthx the wizard into building the portal, only to arrive in a cage of unicorn hair, where Xgqrthx proceeded to trap him in an orb for entertainment.
    • Though he ultimately escaped and took his revenge, his resulting rampage made him persona non grata throughout all of medieval Europe, throwing a major wrench into his plans.
• His egotism is done to cover up that he's insecure over everyone from his home dimension looking down on him prior to their deaths.
  • Furthermore, whenever he thinks of the incident, he hears a loud buzzing and blacks out for 30 seconds.
• Scared of going inside McGucket's head, with his mental state being so unstable and hazardous even Bill doesn't dare to go near, with shards of his memories damaged by the memory ray even causing Bill some of the only pain he finds unpleasurable.

Fun Facts[]

• Bill actually had parents... until he killed them along with the 2nd dimension.
• Bill appeared in season 10 of the popular web series DEATH BATTLE! where he fought against Discord from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and won. However, he was left trapped in the Nightmare Realm thanks to Discord teleporting them both there so that he could save Equestria from Bill in the end Bill won.
