The Three-Fold Influence of Bill Gates Bill Gates is one of the most powerful, famous and wealthy people in the world. He is also one of the biggest philanthropists who are responsible for giving away billions of dollars to worthy causes and people in need all over the world. As a self-made businessman and founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates has had more influence over the basic aspects of peoples ' lives than almost any other person in the world. These three factors of wealth, philanthropy, and invention mean that Bill Gates, for me, is one of the most influential people in the history. By exploring each of these factors, in turn, I will draw a picture of Bill Gates that will attempt to show just how influential he has been to everyone. In addition, I will discuss how the different areas of his influence can be seen to create who he is in the world today. Without a doubt Bill Gate 's wealth gives him a huge amount of influence. According to the Forbes list of the most powerful people in the world, Gates ranks at no. 7. (Forbes, 2014). He has a net worth of over $82 billion that makes him the richest man in America.
