Billie Eilish's "Your Power" Lyrics Are Her Most Vulnerable Yet

Billie Eilish is back and better than ever. The singer just dropped her second single off her upcoming album, Happier Than Ever, and there's no question that Billie is trying to get an important message across with this one, though there is some speculation as to who it could be about.

In "Your Power," Billie seems to sing about someone who is abusing his power and holding it over a woman. In an Instagram post announcing the song, Billie wrote, "This is about many different situations that we’ve all either witnessed or experienced. i hope this can inspire change. try not to abuse your power."

Fans, meanwhile, have already begun to theorize what the song could be about. Some believe Billie is talking about her relationship with Brandon Quention Adams aka Q, which was covered in her recent Apple TV+ documentary, Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry.

Others, though, believe "Your Power" doesn't point to a specific situation, but a general power dynamic.

[Chorus]Try not to abuse your powerI know we didn't choose to changeYou might not wanna lose your powerBut having it's so strange[Verse 1]She said you were a hero, you played the partBut you ruined her in a year, don't act like it was hardAnd you swear you didn't know (Didn't know)No wonder why you didn't askShe was sleeping in your clothes (In your clothes)But now she's got to get to classHow dare you?[Pre-Chorus]And how could you? Will you only feel bad when they find out?If you could take it all back, would you?[Chorus]Try not to abuse your powerI know we didn't choose to changeYou might not wanna lose your powerBut having it's so strange[Verse 2]I thought that I was special, you made me feelLike it was my fault you were the devil, lost your appealDoes it keep you in control? (In control)For you to keep her in a cage? And you swear you didn't know (Didn't know)You said you thought she was your ageHow dare you?[Pre-Chorus]And how could you? Will you only feel bad if it turns out, that they kill your contract?Would you?[Chorus]Try not to abuse your powerI know we didn't choose to changeYou might not wanna lose your powerBut power isn't pain[Outro]HmmOoh, ooh, haLa-la-la-la-la
