Vincent “Biofrost” Wang, the support player for Team SoloMid, will leave the organization and take a break from competition during the 2021 spring split. He will focus exclusively on streaming in the meantime.

“I will be leaving TSM. Having played pro for about five years now, I want to do something else for a little bit of my time and whatever I do next I’ll put my whole 100 percent into it,” TSM’s former starting support said in the announcement video made by the team. “So I do want to take a break for at least a split and if I do end up coming back, then it would be with renewed vigor.”

Biofrost was a member of the TSM lineup that won the 2020 LCS summer split after completing a spectacular run through the lower bracket that included successive victories over Golden Guardians, Cloud9, Team Liquid, and Flyquest. In Worlds, TSM made history by becoming the first team ever to go 0-6 during the group stage as the number one seed of a major region.

Besides receiving the dubious honor in League of Legends’ perennial international competition, Biofrost found solace in the fact that he claimed a domestic championship before undergoing his hiatus in addition to the support he received from his fans. The 24-year-old Chinese-Canadian player walks off the LCS main stage with four split titles under his possession, the most won all-time among NA support players.

“Even though 2020 ended with a sour note of Worlds, we actually did end up winning a summer championship but it doesn’t actually feel like it because of COVID. We didn’t actually go to a live stadium or anything but I’m glad that, right before I’m taking a break, at least we won a championship,” Biofrost said in recollection of his 2020 season.

“As well I wanted to say thank you to all the fans that supported me throughout this year. I thought that after Worlds I would be flooded with negative messages in my Twitter and everywhere [else], but the reality was it wasn’t like that. I had a lot of kind and heart-felt messages too…It was really appreciative.”
