Born in England, Keira grew up as a child of a playwright and actor. At the age of three Keira requested to have an agent to start her acting career; and at the age of three she got her first agent and performed in her first role on television. In 2001 Keira got her first movie role in Parminder Nagra. After that she stared in a small hit movie called Bend it Like Beckham (2002). In 2003 Keira got a role playing Juliet in the movie Love Actually.

In 2003 Keira got one of her most well known roles as Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Other roles Keira got were in movies such as Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace (1999), King Arthur (2004), The Jacket (2005), Pride and Prejudice (2005), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007), Domino (2005), Atonement (2007), etc.
