[Biology Class 10] Where Do Plants Get Each Of Raw Materials Required

Where do plants get each of the raw materials required for photosynthesis?

Answer

The raw materials needed for the process of Photosynthesis are Carbon dioxide, Water, Sunlight and Chlorophyll.

  1. Carbon dioxide - Plants obtain CO 2 from the atmosphere with the help of stomata present on the surface of the leaves.
  2. Water - Water is taken up by the roots of the plants through the process of osmosis
  3. Sunlight - The energy from the sun falls onto the leaves directly.
  4. Chlorophyll - This photosynthetic pigment is present in the leaves of plants.
