Black Clover To Officially End With Final Arc After 3-Month Hiatus

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Black Clover chapter 330!
Shonen Jump's editorial department and mangaka Yūki Tabata himself have both released official statements about Black Clover entering a hiatus before beginning its final arc. Although disappointing, fans who have been keeping up with the series probably weren't all that shocked by the news.
It's undeniable that the cliche obliterating shonen manga Black Clover has had an impressive run. In chapter 196, Black Clover dropped a massive twist that essentially put tremendous focus on a race of devils that Asta and his fellow mages have been fighting for over a year now. The revelation has made it difficult for fans to imagine what could possibly happen once they - especially the king of devils Lucifero - are inevitably defeated since they are so strongly involved in the events of the human world. Even though Black Clover has obviously introduced a devil named Adrammelech as the next major villain, the recent death of an earlier devil only served to expedite the arc's conclusion.

Soon after reading about the death of that major villain, fans learned from the Unofficial Shonen Jump News Twitter account that Tabata would first take a three-month hiatus starting in Weekly Shonen Jump #23 and then return by writing what will serve as the series' final arc before officially ending. The statements were shared on Shonen Jump's unofficial Twitter handle after an earlier Tweet from the same account only revealed that Black Clover would be entering a short hiatus for an undisclosed amount of time. There had been no hint that the series would resume with the final arc of Black Clover.
Before the hiatus begins, fans will have a chance to read Black Clover's next chapter, which will debut in Shonen Jump this weekend. And just based on fan reactions on Twitter to the raw Japanese pages circulating the web, it's clear that something involving Yami and Julius will happen. Although Julius underwent a rather odd transformation himself that has compromised his magical abilities and overall appearance, fans are undoubtedly more fixated on a recent development involving Yami that hinted the mage captain might be evolving into something past a devil form. This new chapter appears as though it will address this possibility. Oddly enough, William Vangeance has yet to trend on Twitter, which is surprising since the same chapter that introduced the possibility that Yami might be undergoing a transformation revealed that William most likely shared the same fate. Could that mean that fans might discover something else about Yami? And as for the new devil that is clearly the next big bad, it's unlikely that fans will learn anything more about his motives or intentions once the final arc begins after Tabata returns from his three-month hiatus. But there's sure to be a panel of that devil looking quite menacing.
Although this news is upsetting to many Black Clover fans, there's still hope that this final arc could end up being massively long once Tabata comes back from his hiatus. Or maybe he could even change his mind. Fans can hope.
