Black Clover: What's Next After The Spade Kingdom Raid Arc? - CBR

The latest chapter of Black Clover has confirmed that Asta, Yuno, Yami, and Nacht have finally defeated Lucifero before he was able to fully manifest. Much to Adrammelech's delight, Asta was able to run his sword through the "King of the Devils" and finish the fight.

With the mages being healed up by Mimosa, it seems that the battle, at least for now, has been won. Now that Lucifero is subdued, the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc is coming to its conclusion. But the question remains, what's next for Asta on his journey to becoming the Wizard King?

The latest chapter, 330, has left readers with a bit of a tease for what's to come. Adrammelech, who's been watching from the sidelines for the entire fight, has finally made their move. Instead of finishing off the already wounded magicians, however, they have taken advantage of the situation and stolen Lucifero's heart. Adrammelech then flew away, telling the humans "See you around."

Lucifero cannot fully manifest without performing the Qliphoth Advent Ritual, which was already halted by Asta and his friends, so it seems unlikely that Adrammelech would attempt to bring Lucifero back again. If that was their plan they would have seized the opportunity to do so right after the battle ended. Adrammelech seemed to also be quite indifferent to Lucifero, as shown in chapter 322 when they refused to help him fight off Yuno and Mereoleona. They may be interested in increasing their own power and will use Lucifero's heart to steal his magic.

Adrammelech Steals Lucifero's Heart in Black Clover

Another possibility is that Adrammelech is bringing the heart to the unknown fourth Zogratis sibling. Chapter 310 revealed that the Dark Triad has an elder brother who seems to be the one who convinced the siblings to make contracts with devils. Adrammelech could be in a contract with the last Zogratis, or simply just working with him to "remake humanity." A few panels earlier he explained that the only way to protect weak people is to destroy them temporarily and give them undying bodies. His plans seem different from Lucifero's, who just desired destruction and death. Lucifero would rather control or destroy humanity than reshape it, and if they did have similar plans, why wouldn't the last Zogratis sibling be with his family trying to help Lucifero. Since the other siblings are called the Dark Triad, it is clear their eldest brother has split off and has plans of his own.

The other question that will more than likely be answered by the end of this arc is what will Yuno do next? He is the Prince of the Spade Kingdom, and with the Dark Triad defeated, he is heir to the throne. Yuno has grown up as a peasant with Asta, and the two of them have surpassed their limits on their quests to become the Wizard King. It is doubtful that he would want to leave his friends and the home he grew up in, but there don't seem to be many other candidates for the position. After that battle the Spade Kingdom clearly needs a strong ruler now more than ever. Will Yuno give up on his goal and take the throne for the sake of his people? It would obviously not be the last we saw of him, but Yuno accepting the position would potentially push him out of the narrative for some time, and knock him out of the running for Wizard King.
