[Blender + Clip Studio] How To Duplicate A Group Of Symmetrical ...

🌸How to Mirror Duplicate Object Groups in Blender (Confirmed with 2.9)

When you want to hide only the opposite side of a symmetrical 3D material, it's convenient to duplicate hierarchical symmetrical object groups as they are. However, if you do it normally, one side will be inverted when loaded into Clip Studio, and it won't display correctly.

In this case, after applying the scale to all object groups on the mirrored side, use SHIFT+N to revert the inverted mesh back to normal.

🌼Steps in Blender🌼

1. Move the object groups you want to mirror-duplicate to the left or right of the X or Y zero axis.

2. Use Interactive Mirror (Ctrl+M) and select X or Y axis globally.

3-1. Select all object groups including empties on the mirrored side (※Important).

3-2. Apply scale with CTRL+A.

4-1. You'll notice the mesh is inverted, so select all inverted objects (make sure the active selection is a mesh, as you cannot enter Edit Mode with an empty selected).

4-2. In Edit Mode, use SHIFT+N to flip the normals.

🌼Next: How to Rename Multiple Objects

When you duplicate objects in Blender normally, sequential numbers like .001, .002, etc., are appended to the end of the object names.

This makes it difficult to identify which part is which when viewing the list in Clip Studio, so let's try batch renaming using a paid add-on called 'namestack' (free for Blender 2.7 users).

[nS - NameStack [1.01d] - Coding / Released Scripts and Themes - Blender Artists Community](https://blenderartists.org/t/ns-namestack-1-01d/556738)

This add-on is currently under development, but I believe it fulfills its functions sufficiently.

It can be called up with the F2 shortcut, and it's convenient because it automatically removes sequential numbers like .001 when you replace selected objects or add a word you want to append to the beginning of their names.
