Despite what its name implies, there is no gold in Goldstone; in fact, Goldstone is man-made glass infused with copper particles; the additions of cobalt, manganese or chromium result in the deep, shimmery Blue Goldstone. It was invented by the Miotti family in Venice during the seventeenth century. And, because glass is made from quartz sand (silica), Goldstone has found its way into the healing community.

It's funny. I was looking at crystals the other day. I knew I wanted and needed a labradorite stone, and why. I was looking for other stones, and was drawn very strongly to blue goldstone. I instantly knew I needed it, but didn't know why. I brought the stones home and saged the heck out of them. Then I cleared them on a selenite plate overnight. Then I charged them under the new moon. These two stones will join my ruby fuchsite and no longer leave my side. (Submitted by: Sue on September 07, 2021)

I recently bought a Blue goldstone beaded bracelet from Village Silversmith at Hampton Beach N.H. They give you a card with every stone you purchase that gives info on that particular stone. But for this bracelet of beautiful deep blue sparkly beads they gave me a Copper card. They said Blue Goldstone has Copper and glass in it. I’ve read of Copper being in it but is glass in it too?? yes! and there are other metallic minerals, as well as pigments. the glass is made of quartz sand, and the other minerals added to it make it very useful. (Submitted by: grace on December 07, 2020)
