BMF Star Eric Kofi Abrefa Discusses Lamar's Hunger For Power

BMF episode 6 spoilers follow.

As BMF season 1 continues, the struggle for power and control of the streets between brothers Demetrius 'Big Meech' Flenory (Demetrius Flenory Jr) and Terry 'Southwest T' Flenory (Da'Vinchi) and their main rival Lamar (Eric Kofi Abrefa) begins to reach its climax.

While we still don't know who shot Terry and the street war between the Flenorys and Lamar continues, last week's episode saw Big Meech kidnap Monique (Kash Doll) and Lamar's daughter Zoey in exchange for the stash that Lamar stole.

This week came to an even bigger climatic end and if you've not watched the episode yet, you have been warned.

BMF episode 6 saw Lamar become ever more sinister with the killing of his loyal friend Slick (Myles Bullock), as well as the cliffhanger ending which also saw Lamar stab the childhood sweetheart to the Flenorys' youngest sibling, Nicole Flenory (Laila Pruitt).

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Eric Kofi Abrefa, who stars as Lamar on the show, discussed just exactly how far Lamar is willing to go to regain control of the streets:

"I think that's what it starts off as, and then I think there's a bit more hunger for power, or little things. Essentially, Meech and Terry are in the way, they're young little dudes who've come in, And he kind of just, he wants to take them out.

"But even within that you've got Meech, messing with Monique, and then that kind of has his brain somewhere else because of the daughter and family," he continued. "So, I think he's willing to, depending on what it is, I think he's willing to take it there, anywhere. I don't think there's no, there's no kind of limit, or like, he feels any compassion or empathy for somebody if he has to get rid of them."

Abrefa also discussed the possibility of Lamar being the one who shot Terry in the first episode, laughing: "Ahh I don't know, I can't, I don't know.

"I mean, you know, it's like, imagine if like, there's like you're playing a murder mystery game, and everybody knows this one guy for being on smoke all the time, obviously you're gonna think it's him, innit?

"So, I can understand all the fingers being pointed at Lamar, but to be honest, I actually can't reveal anything but I can't remember, like I don't (laughs)."BMF airs on Starz in the US and streams on Starzplay, available through Amazon Prime Video, in the UK.
