Yellowstone National Park has closed hiking to the Boiling River Trail. The Boiling RIver is near Gardiner, MT, inside the Park close to Mammoth Hot Springs. The Yellowstone National Park superintendent ordered the closure of the Boiling River trail to protect the resources from damage and for the safety of park visitors.
Recent warm weather has created extremely muddy trail conditions. Due to standing water and large areas of deep slippery mud, the trail is currently impassable.
The trail will remain closed until further notice. It will reopen when trail conditions have improved.
