Brielle Name Meaning

Originally a nickname for Gabrielle, Brielle has exploded onto the baby name scene on her own, rocketing to the Top 100 for the first time in 2018. A French name, she has the lovely meaning of “God is my strength.”

Brielle was destined for popularity with her ultra-feminine -elle ending, a trend that parents can’t stop loving as seen in Isabelle, Noelle, and Annabelle. The bree sound is also a crowd pleaser with Aubrey and Brianna appearing as favorites. She comes bearing fabulous nicknames too like Bree, Elle, and our favorite, Breezy.

While Brielle is a newcomer on the baby name scene and undoubtedly modern, we don’t see any problems with her aging. She isn’t immature by any means, and she’ll be just as lovely on an adult woman as she is on a sweet child. In fact, many names that got their start as nicknames work out well in the long run like Bella.

Brielle is a delicate name, right at home on a little girl who loves baby dolls and tea parties. She isn’t a rough and tumble pick, but she’s no pushover either. While gentle in sound, she’s feisty in spirit.

If Brielle’s rise in popularity has you spooked, check out similar names including Brienne, Arielle, and Giselle.

It sounds good with my other daughter’s name and follows a theme. It was listed as rare beautiful deep meaning names and I fell in love. I love the meaning behind the name most. It means woman of god.

Besides it being such a beautiful name, Brielle means heroine of God. Our baby girl will stand for Christ in these last and evil days. Her light will shine so bright men will see her good works and glorify the father in Heaven.

Also her initials are the same as myself and her father’s making us go from EBHsquared to EBHcubed.

Her name has a biblical meaning. It means God is my strength, during my pregnancy I faced alot if emotional pain and trauma my experiences were not the best but God helped me and carried me through, without God I would not have made it and I need to praise God he deserves all the glory.

I had been through difficult times with my miscarriage prior to this baby and through those difficulties God was my strength and my shield so I named my baby Brielle meaning God is my strength/ heroine of God or Brave woman of God.

My daughter was named Brielle back in 1984. During my pregnancy, the name was in a letter I received through employment. At that time, Brielle was not in any baby name books. I would not tell anyone her name (including my husband) until she was born. I did not want prebirth opinions on her name, because to me that is who she was! Fortunately, her father liked the name.

My oldest daughter chose this name for baby Brielle. Her dads name is Brian, so we thought it would be cute to have a name kind of like dad’s own.

Brielle very much like Michael, Saint like and virtuous, instead of prideful born of hubris.

B?ne Dicte – descendant of Michael, inheritor or benefactor of the world or the Earth, benevolent dictator. Bethany in Greek Beetheenney or Beatheenney – beautiful victory, beautiful and terrible born of majesty in Sicilian is B?ne Dicte which is Valthiya (Bethesda) in Cyrillic. “And the meek shall inherit the earth.” <3 Bethany Arlene Jones

My brother Brian + my sister Elizabeth = Brielle. And because my sister Elizabeth passed away more than twenty years ago, it was the perfect way to honor her beautiful memory. We chose Marie for her middle name which is the middle name of my other sister and sister-in-law so our baby girl was named after all of our siblings!

Honestly, I wanted a name that started with Bri like my own. Also, Brielle means God Is My Strength which gave me even more reason for my name pick. I wanted something different that is a kind of known name but not that common.

Hubby and I first heard this name while we were still planning our wedding, and kept it filed away in our memory for when we were expecting our first daughter. It’s such a pretty name, a derivative of Gabrielle, and gets shortened to Brie a lot too, which I also love.
