Bring It On - Movies In Order

The Bring it on movie series started in 2000, and has since been followed up by three additional sequels. The initial movie was largely considered a success, grossing around 100 million in box office earnings. The subsequent movies were lesser known, but all in all were also considered successful. This teen series focuses on a cheer leading group who attempts to win another national title in a cheerleading meet up. However, one of the members discovers that the routine they’re doing is actually stolen, and drama ensues.
If you’re looking to watch the Bring it on movies in order, you’ll need to start with the first one in 2000. However, for the most part these films can be watched in any order you want. They don’t really follow a chronological timeline, and they’re all made as standalone movies. The characters from the first movie are completely different than the later films, so there’s no reason I can think of to watch them in any particular order. Each movie is simply meant to be enjoyed on its own.
The original Bring it on gained pretty favorable reviews when it first came out. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 64%, which is pretty high for this niche. Critics said it had a predictable story line, but the movie made up for it with its cheery and high energy story. Because of its success there were a number of sequels to the original movie, however, none of them kept the same characters. The first sequel in 2004 remained consistent with the producers, but none of the actors stayed. The sequels were direct to video movies, and were not released to theaters.

Bring it on may be responsible for turning opinions on professional cheerleading. It has shed some light about the amount of work and athleticism required to actually be a professional cheerleader. In fact, outside of the United States, the style of cheerleading featured in the movies has actually earned the nickname “Bring it on cheerleading”.
It’s unfortunate that the sequels to the 2000 hit were direct to video. I enjoyed watching the original movie, and really think the follow ups had a chance to gain more public notoriety. Even so, the Bring it on movie series was definitely a fun story to get into. With the cheery comedy, combined with a heartwarming story, Bring it on has definitely earned its role in popular culture.
