The mystery has been solved! BTS’s V revealed the true meaning behind “wooga” and it turns out all the fans’ guesses were wrong. Many initially thought that it was an abbreviation for the words actor (baewoo) and singer (gasu) to represent each of the member’s fields of profession.

The Wooga squad is made up of five members: BTS’s V, Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik, Park Hyung Sik, and Peakboy. The video below reveals that “Wooga” is an abbreviation for the phrase, “Are we family?” (Woori-ga Gajok-inga?). V states that although they are not related by blood, they felt that they got along so well that they felt like family.

The members of this group are always seen supporting one another when it comes to new projects such as a concert or a new film. They are also seen sending food trucks to one another to support them as well. Most recently, V participated in a soundtrack for Park Seo Joon’s recent drama Itaewon Class.
