AboutSong Bio2 contributors

“Where I Belong” conveys an important message for followers of Christ to realize that Heaven is where they belong and that Heaven is their real home.

The band’s lead singer, Jason Roy, shared the heart behind the song in a Youtube video:

I don’t know a whole lot. I’m not a theologian. I’m not even really a preacher. There are a few things I do know. I know that I’m not home yet. I know that this is not where I belong. And I also know that I will not live for the things that this world has to offer anymore. You can take it, ‘cause all I want is Jesus. What my soul longs for more than anything else in this world… is a place of peace and a place called home.

The song has been streamed on Spotify over 18 million times, making it the band’s number one most streamed song ever. The song topped the US Billboard Christian Songs chart for 15 consecutive weeks, making it the longest-running No. 1 single of 2013.

It is also the third song off of Listen To The Sound to be played on the radio, following “Listen To The Sound” and “One Foot”.
