Quick question..
Say I build a fort with 6 wooden foundations, and then stone walls all around it, and then a second floor above with a stone floor and stone walls/ceiling. If someone breaks through the reinforced wooden door, and destroys one of the 6 wooden foundations, will the entire building collapse? Or do they have to destroy all 6 foundations?
so then adding to that, what if I were to demolish each wooden foundation one by one and replace with stone?

If you destroy a foundation most times every thing above it Wil collapse, ark mechanics can be wonky at times. If you're going to up grade them with stone, just place the stone foundations over your wooden foundations. You'll still get resources back, but walls won't collapse.

If the foundations on the sides (supporting the walls) are broken then it will all fall... But people don't have to break the door.. They can destroy the foundations on the sides... So if 5 foundations are destroyed the building will stay up

So if I place a stone foundation over a wooden one, it'll break the wood and the stone will fall into it's place? If so, that will also work for the foundations that support the walls?

It will stay up if 5 of 6 are destroyed? but wouldn't the walls collapse, bringing down the whole structure when they destroy the foundations supporting the walls?

if you take the foundation anything above it will be gone, but if you have several floors it should just take that 1 panel.

Yea good idea. Anyone know how long it would take to destroy a wood foundation with metal tools?

Could you test it in single player and change the amount of damage to buildings to speed up testing?
(I'm not sure on the full range of options on the Xbox right now but single player is just perfect for practicing building layouts)

Yes, the single player server has all those value sliders on the Xbox. That's a good way to test it out.

Please if you are worried about collapsing buildings use pillars between floors. As the pillars emulate a foundation.. if every floor has pillars in the same place then effectively your building can hover unattached to the ground. I WILL look for a video to explain this but it works because I used it to make an unsupported tree house..
*update* found it: https://youtu.be/LVFCbPXEnaM

That's a great idea. I couldn't tell from the video, do stone pillars clip through the floor like the wooden ones do?
