Chamomile is commonly known by different words all over the world and has been used since 500BC. It came into widespread use during the medieval ages and was extensively prescribed by doctors during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It is still very popular today and an easy medicinal plant to grow.

An easy perennial which can be successfully either in the ground or in pots. In a sunny spot (South facing) the fragrance of the chamomile will be enhanced and more flowers will be produced. It gradually creeps to form a mat of low growing leaves year-round and can be split to provide plantlets for other areas. If you don't use the flowers for tea, the seed can be saved once ripe and sown the following year.

Usage

The warm sweet flowers of chamomile are relaxing and calming to the mind and body and tradition sees its use for both emotional irritability and skin irritation.The essential oil is distilled from the flowers are added to a variety of skin preparations like soaps, creams and balms. Aromatherapists use it in blends to for the skin and to aid relaxation.A herbal infusion of the fresh or dried flowers is traditionally taken to unwind, aid sleep and is carminative to the digestion.

 

 

Delivery

We deliver our herb plants to addresses across the UK. Orders are  dispatched between Mondays and Thursdays. This is usually within two to four days of placing your order, but at some points of the year during busy peaks it may take a little longer.

The majority of our orders are sent via a 24 hour courier service.  Orders sent by courier to Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isle of Wight and Scilly Isles take 48-72hrs - this will be indicated at the checkout.

Charges - Highlands & Islands

There are additional surcharges for delivery to some postcodes in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isle of Wight and Scilly Isles - this will be calculated at the checkout based on the delivery address postcode and number of plants ordered - we provide an indication of these charges on our order & delivery information page. Unfortunately due to Brexit we are unable to ship to Northern Island currently.

 

Packaging

All the herbs are supplied in 9x9 cm pots (8cm depth).  Our herbs are packaged securely in recycled and recyclable blister packs and then into cardboard boxes, to ensure your plants to arrive in the best possible condition.

Once an order has been placed you have the right to cancel your order up to the day of dispatch. As herbs are a perishable item we cannot accept returns in exchange for a refund.
