A c/o address you need, if the recipient of the letter or package does not have its own address. In this article we will explain to you what exactly is with the abbreviation c/o, and how you can use it correctly.
c/o address: What does this mean?
The abbreviation c/o means "care of".
Translated to English it means "under the care of".
If you want to send a shipment, the receiver has its own address, send the shipment to the address at which the Person is located, for example, as a guest.
You have to enter in the first address line of the Person receiving the shipment and in the second with the intention of c/o the one who the address belongs.

Examples for c/o addresses
To clarify, here's two examples:
Jonas Schmitz lives Schulte for a year with family. A letter to him would be addressed to "Jonas Schmitz, c/o Fam. Schulte, Sample Street 12, 53174 Bonn".
Ms. carpenter works in the XY GmbH. A show for you, could you address with "Mrs carpenter, c/o XY GmbH, street, city, postal code".
