OUR CAKE SIZE AND SERVINGS GUIDE

Would you like to order a cake but don’t know the size you need?

Well….Worry no more.

We have put together a simple guide to help you to choose a cake size based on servings you need.

And remember sometimes you can ignore the serving size altogether. In some cases, you may just need a symbolic cake and if there is lot’s of other treats, then might go for a smaller cake.

But other times, you need a big show stopper, and even if your party size is small, you may go for a big multi-tiered cake to mark the occasion.

STANDARD ROUND CAKE SERVINGS

SINGLE TIER ROUND CAKE SIZES AND SERVINGS

Mini 5″	5×4″	6-8 Servings
Small (skinny tall)	6×6″	12 – 16 Servings
Medium	8×4.5″	12 – 16 Servings
Medium (tall)	8×6″	20 – 30 Servings
Large	9×6″	40 – 50 Servings

*Standard dessert servings for parties are about 1.5″x1″ slices. However, with tall cakes, the slices are normally cut horizontally as well.

Coffee slices are smaller servings which are normally served at weddings and at events where there is lots of other treats (cake pops, sweets, cupcakes etc.) served. Coffee servings are 1″x1″.

As always, these are recommendations only, and servings size will depend on how the cake is cut.

Our 6×6″ cake and 8×4.5″ cake give the same amount of cake. The 6″ gives a tall skinny appearance and 8″ cake is wider and lower.

SHEET CAKES PORTION SIZES

Currently we only do large sheet cake – 40 servings of 2×1″ serving size and a smaller sheet cake about 12 servings.

HOW TO ORDER A CAKE BY SIZES/SERVINGS:

Whether you have a party size of 10 or 100, we have you covered. Our cakes come is sizes 6″, 8″ and 9″. For larger parties we can do sheet cakes which are perfect for big birthdays, graduations and corporate events. Please get in contact for the large cakes.

For big birthdays and weddings we do multi-tiered cakes which is the same size round cakes layered on top of each other which support structures in the cake to make it steady.

Please note these are suggestions only. You may get more or less servings depending on the slice size. For the tall cakes, cake slices can be halved in the middle to give extra slices.

If you are worried that you will not have enough cake then we suggest to add a box of cupcakes should you run out. And these can also be used as party favours.
