I'm trying to find everything I can before the Aurora explodes- cause I don't wanna be near it when it does... But I can't find any sulfur- just a volcano directly below the lifepod... < > Showing 1-15 of 16 comments Suzaku View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:36pm Sulfur is found in the little plant-like things that crash fish (the exploding fish) like to hide in. Look for them in any nearby cave in the shallows. #1 Lokiwolf90 View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:39pm

And because it doesn't seem like I'll be able to leave the life pod any time soon, and the ship's explosion seems imminent, is the lifepod at all safe? #2 Suzaku View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:40pm Yes, the explosion isn't as large as you may think. You'll be safe to explore pretty much anywhere that isn't within the immediate area of the ship. #3 vine View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:41pm ... i haven't seen anyone being a victim of Aurora explosion yet.. you'd be the first.. #4 Dirak2012 View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:44pm Just enjoy the fireworks. #5 Cursed Hawkins View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:47pm

The heat vent's blast isn't as big as you think it is either, what you see isn't where the damage is. #6 PhailRaptor View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:47pm

One of IGP's playthroughs he was killed by it. Also Maria, the Marine Biologist. #7 vine View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 8:12pm

hey i watched all of IGPs playthroughs!! which one is it in??? do recall!!! no matter what :D in any case, i'd like to see :) i've seen some of the MMB vids but..she's not a gamer.. it's a pain to watch #8 steventirey View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 8:21pm When the Aurora does eventually explode, you are also automatically given a new wetsuit design to construct that totally protects you from radiation (if wearing all the pieces), so you can explore around the Aurora just fine.Edit: And according to the wiki, yes you can be killed by the explosion. You have to be in the crash zone biome for it to happen, however. Last edited by steventirey; 26 Jun, 2021 @ 8:25pm #9 PhailRaptor View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 9:46pm

It was IGP's second no mods playthrough, I think. Obviously he had prior game knowledge, and he was looking for fragments around the Aurora before it had exploded. Then suddenly the PDA starts talking about the explosion and boom, dead.Yes, clearly Maria is not, initially, a gamer. But if you can stick it out past about episode 4 it she gets quite a bit better. Still misses semi-obvious things, forgets recipies, makes extras of things... but you have to remember she's not a gamer. In fact, Subnautica is only the second game she has Let's Play'd. She actually learned very quickly, much better than a lot of people I know. #10 KippenKaasBaas View Profile View Posts 26 Jun, 2021 @ 10:05pm

There was a huge discussion about this Maria person a while ago on this forum. Would be a shame if it started again... Some of her fanboys really can't stand any criticism. #11 Bubba Fett View Profile View Posts 27 Jun, 2021 @ 12:13am

I'm not sure I'd say you can explore around it just fine. The leviathan will still be a concern. #12 steventirey View Profile View Posts 27 Jun, 2021 @ 12:33am

Well, yeah. The point was more along the lines of the explosion not being a concern, as that was what he was afraid of. Neither the explosion or the aftermath (radiation) are a concern. Unless you happen to be next to the ship when it goes. #13 Lokiwolf90 View Profile View Posts 27 Jun, 2021 @ 12:48am So eventually I did get to that point- and luckily had all the materials required for the rad suit. I was concerned at first, but I see now I was worrying for nothing. #14 kgswiger View Profile View Posts 29 Jun, 2021 @ 7:40pm

If you have the stasis rifle and the knife, you can kill the leviathan. Another one will eventually spawn there, but so long as you don't leave the area you shouldn't run into any more. #15 < > Showing 1-15 of 16 comments Per page: 1530 50 Subnautica > General Gameplay Discussion > Topic Details Date Posted: 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:33pmPosts: 16 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
