Wondering if I change my pan name if it will let me change my character name

Start another character on a different server upload it and switch. However do it when servers have low population.

If you are server-admin or in singleplayer you can use the following command (on a private server you might be able to ask an admin to do it for you):

cheat RenamePlayer "OldName" NewName

it would be nice if there was even a 1 time use item we could use to change the name of our characters.

I’ve tried to use 

admincheat renameplayer "playername" newname

but it doesn’t work. Yes the players are online and in front of me
