If you’re an OG Instagram user, you might remember the time when you could view the posts that accounts you followed had liked. But can you still see what others like on Instagram in 2025?

Instagram is one of the most popular ways to share photos and videos online and has been for many years now. Users can post content in the form of stories, reels, and more, and interact with the range of content that’s available on the app.

If you’re ever curious about what you’ve double-tapped throughout your time on the platform, Instagram allows you to easily view what you’ve liked via your profile page.

You may have also wondered whether it’s possible to see what your friends or accounts you’re following have liked.

Instagram is still a hugely popular social media platform.

Can you see what someone likes on Instagram in 2025?

While you can’t view the photos someone has liked, you are able to see the Reels your friends have liked.

Instagram is rolling out this new feature gradually in select countries, with more regions to follow soon in 2025. This update was announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri on January 17, who revealed the addition of adedicated feed of Reels that your friends have liked.

Previously, there was a ‘following’ activity tab that gave users updates about what people they followed were interacting with on the app, including posts they liked and commented on.

Not everyone was a huge fan of this feature though, and in October 2019, Instagram ended up removing it, meaning it’s no longer easy to track all the content people are interacting with.

If you don’t have the Instagram feature that lets you view the Reels your friends have liked, you can still check the likes on a photo.

By clicking on the likes beneath a post, you’ll see a list of users who have liked it, as long as that option has been made available by the original poster. This can be a way to check if someone you know has liked a specific image.

There are third-party apps that claim to help you find out this information, but it’s not clear how safe or accurate they are.
