Yu-Gi-Oh![]

  • The original manga and first series anime has this card as a Level 7 while the second series anime has this card as a Level 3.
  • In the anime, this card appears when someone gathered his five pieces in their hand. In that instant, it appeared and attacked, destroying all the opponent's Monsters with one blow and wiping out the opponent's Life Points with his attack.
  • The card's attack is called Raging Hellfire - Exxod Flame 「怒りの業火 エクゾード・フレイム」 in the manga, and the Japanese anime. In the English anime's uncut versions, this card's attack is called Hellfire's Rage - Exodo Flame. The broadcast anime doesn't have a consistent attack name, although Obliterate is the name given to the Automatic Win effect in the first dubbed episode.

Anime[]

Pre-Duelist Kingdom[]

  • In episode 1, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. He draws this card on the Duel's final turn which he now has this card in his hand alongside "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Left Arm of the Forbidden One" and "Left Leg of the Forbidden One". Yami Yugi then summons all five pieces (a feat that no Duelists has ever accomplished prior to this Duel). The complete set of Exodia then attacks and destroys all three copies of Seto's "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", winning Yami Yugi the Duel.

Duelist Kingdom[]

  • In episode 3, Weevil Underwood asked Yugi Muto if he could look at the complete set of these cards. Yugi does so, but Weevil chucks these five cards overboard to insure that Yugi can't use these cards to help win his Duels during Duelist Kingdom. Joey Wheeler jumps in to try and save these cards, but only recovers two cards.
  • In episode 8, this card is shown in a flashback Seto Kaiba has when he remembers losing to Yami Yugi who claiming that he needs to put his heart into the game to win against him.
  • In episode 9, this card is shown in a flashback Seto Kaiba has when he tells his computer that Yami Yugi has the complete set of these cards which should be more than enough to beat Maximillion Pegasus. After remembering Yami Yugi using these cards against him, Seto gets angered at his loss. But the computer states to Kaiba that Yami Yugi lost these cards at some point which shocks Seto.
  • In episode 16, this card is shown in a flashback Seto has when he remembers Yami Yugi using the Exodia cards to wipe out his three copies of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and win the Duel.
  • In episode 35, this card can be seen in a flashback Yugi Muto has when he remembers Solomon Muto telling him that he should never lose faith in himself and that he will win if he faces himself in times of pain. This card can be seen at the bottom of the Deck Solomon was holding while he was explaining this to Yugi.

Battle City[]

  • In episode 55, a Rare Hunter uses this card during his Duel against Joey Wheeler. He activates "Graceful Charity" twice in order to get the Exodia pieces into his hand. The Rare Hunter eventually succeeds in getting a complete set into his hand, allowing him to summon the complete set. The complete set of Exodia then attacks and destroys Joey's "Red-Eyes Black Dragon", defeating Joey. After the Duel, the Rare Hunter reveals that he has three complete sets of the Exodia cards in order to insure he can win Duels.
  • In episode 56, the Rare Hunter uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. By the fourth turn's end, he has this card, "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One" and "Left Leg of the Forbidden One" in his hand and he knew that "Left Arm of the Forbidden One" is the top card of his Deck. Yami Yugi then figured out the Rare Hunter's strategy involved the Exodia pieces. In the next episode, the Rare Hunter is prepared in drawing "Left Arm of the Forbidden One", but Yami Yugi activates "Time Seal" to skip the Rare Hunter's Draw Phase. Yami Yugi then activates "Lightforce Sword" to banish "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" for three turns. The Rare Hunter activates "Swords of Revealing Light" to stall for time, and has two copies of this card in his hand after two turns. The Rare Hunter then Normal Summons one copy in Defense Position, but Yami Yugi then activates "Chain Destruction" to destroy the two remaining copies in the Rare Hunter's hand and Deck. Yugi then activates "Dust Tornado" to destroy "Swords of Revealing Light", allowing Yami Yugi's "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" to attack and destroy this card. After he won the Duel, Yami Yugi takes back Joey's "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" and then discovers that the Rare Hunter's cards were fake (in the original version while the dub has the cards as real but marked with an invisible ink) and that was enough for Yugi to rip these cards up. During the Duel, this card is specifically referred as "Head of Exodia" to separate from the four limbs.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card can be seen in the Rare Hunter's Deck when searched by Yami Yugi and finds out these cards are fake (in the original while the dub has these cards real yet marked).
  • In episode 74, three copies of this card appear within a series of flashbacks that show Yami Yugi's various Duels during Battle City.

Virtual World[]

  • In episode 99, this card appears when Yami Yugi is building his Deck for his Duel against Gansley.
  • In episode 108, this card appears in a flashback explained by Leichter when he reminds Seto Kaiba that his birthday gift from Gozaburo Kaiba was where all the mistakes made by Seto himself began.
    • In episode 109, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto that his treachery began when Gozaburo gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • In episode 120, Gozaburo Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. He activates "Painful Choice" for this card, "Left Leg of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" and "Left Arm of the Forbidden One" to appear and Seto chooses "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" to be added to Gozaburo's hand while the remaining parts go to the Graveyard. This card's presence in the Graveyard grants Gozaburo's "Exodia Necross" immunity to destruction from battle. In the next episode, Seto activates "Soul Demolition" to banish all five pieces from the Graveyard and make "Exodia Necross" vulnerable.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown in a flashback sequence that Seto has after Gozaburo reminds him of his past experience with these cards (which was his first Duel against Yami Yugi which he lost).

Waking the Dragons[]

  • In episode 159, this card is shown when Weevil Underwood and Rex Raptor are taken to a vault within Paradius's headquarters that contains copies of every card in existence (with the exception of the Legendary Dragons and the Egyptian Gods).

Dawn of the Duel[]

  • During this arc, Shimon has this Monster as his Ka and he swore to seal and never use again after this Monster destroyed the force that was attacking the Egyptian capital during Aknamkanon's reign. Shimon later uses this Monster from its five pieces via the Millennium Key as Zorc Necrophades attacks Egypt, experiencing some success until Zorc destroys this Monster and Shimon is killed.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX[]

  • In episode 75, this card appears in a flashback Tyranno Hassleberry when he recognizes the first place that Solomon Muto takes him and his friends to as the same place where Yugi Dueled Seeker.
  • In episode 127, Marcel Bonaparte (who was possessed by Yubel at the time) was going to add this card from his Deck to his hand via the effect of "Break the Seal" during his Duel against Adrian Gecko, however the Duel gets canceled due to the Sacred Beasts awakening. After seeing Marcel's hand, Adrian realized that if the effect of "Break the Seal" had resolved, Marcel would have won the Duel.
  • In episode 144, Adrian uses this card during his Duel against Aster Phoenix. He places this card on top of his Deck via the effect of "Deep Diver". Upon figuring out Adrian's strategy, Aster activates "Force of Four" to prevent Adrian from getting all five pieces of Exodia into his hand as well as make Adrian send "Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord". After Adrian draws this card, he is forced to send this card to the Graveyard. Adrian then prepares to activate the effect of "Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord". In the next episode, Adrian activates the effect of "Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" to return this card from his Graveyard to his Deck and discard "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" and "Left Arm of the Forbidden One" in order to Special Summon "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord". On the last turn of the Duel, "Exodius" (whose ATK was 4000 due to its own effect) attacks "Destiny Hero - Plasma" (whose ATK was 2400 due to it being equipped with "Destiny HERO - Departed"), but Aster activates "Plasma Discharger" to destroy "Departed" and end Adrian's Battle Phase. Adrian then activates "Rage of the Forbidden One" to negate the effect of "Plasma Discharger". Adrian then activates the third effect of "Exodius" to send this card from his hand to the Graveyard, which increases the ATK of "Exodius" by 1000. "Exodius" then destroys "Plasma". Since there are five Forbidden One cards in Adrian's Graveyard and "Exodius" is face-up on the field, Adrian won the Duel by default.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown when Adrian arrives at where Exodia is sealed off and takes out the five Exodia pieces from his Deck.
  • In episode 149, this card was shown in Adrian's hand during his Duel against Jesse Anderson while the latter was possessed by Yubel. Adrian activates the effect of "Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" to return "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Left Leg of the Forbidden One", and "Left Arm of the Forbidden One" from his Graveyard to his Deck, discard "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" and this card, and Special Summon "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord". In the next episode, Adrian activates the last effect of "Fog Castle" to send the latter and all cards from his field and hand to the Graveyard and add this card, "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Left Arm of the Forbidden One", and "Right Arm the Forbidden One" from his Graveyard to his hand. Adrian then activates "Break the Seal" and activates the latter's effect to add "Left Leg of the Forbidden One" from his Deck to his hand, but Jesse sends "Nightmare Shuffle" to the Graveyard in order to activate "Hand Destruction", which forces both players to send four cards in his hand to the Graveyard and draw four cards. Adrian was then forced to send the four Exodia pieces in his hand to the Graveyard and draw four cards while Jesse just draws one card as he had no cards in his hand. Adrian then activates "A Feather of the Phoenix" to take this card from his Graveyard and place it on top of his Deck. Adrian planned to activate "Backup Soldier" on his next turn to get the three remaining Exodia pieces in his hand and gain an Automatic Win, but Jesse defeats him before that could happen.
  • This card appears in the Japanese closing song Borderline Battle.
