What Is a Cartography Table and What Does It Do in Minecraft

A Cartography Table can be used to level up maps in Minecraft. When a map is leveled up, it allows you to see more land on the map than you originally could half before. Cartography Tables are also used as job sites for Villagers. If one is near a Cartography Table, they can change their job to a cartographer.

Where to Find a Cartography Table

The only spot where Cartography Table spawns naturally is in villages. But for one to spawn, there must be a village cartographer.

How to Craft a Cartography Table

Listed below is everything you'll need to craft a Cartography Table. Alongside a list and picture of the recipe.

• Paper: 2
• Wood Planks: 4

How to Use a Cartography Table

To use a Cartography Table, you'll need a map first. Once you have the map, go to the Cartography Table and place your map on the top left, along with a piece of paper on the bottom left. You should see that the center says "Zoom Out & Clear," On the right, you'll see the map, and underneath the map, it'll say it's level out of 4. Grab the map on the right side, and it'll level it up.

To get the map to its max level, just keep putting in the paper until you reach level 4 and it's maxed out.
