Cave tours

What's the difference between a stalagmite and stalactite? How does it feel to experience true darkness? Who was the first person to discover this massive cave? Learn all that and more during guided cave tours offered daily, all year round, rain or shine.

See the cave from a whole-new perspective during special events like Black Light Tours, Lantern Tours and more.

Please note the cave is not wheelchair, walker or stroller accessible.

Above-ground adventure

Cave of the Mounds is on a mission to preserve and restore the area's natural resources both above and below ground. Explore gardens, woodlands and a prairie restoration area connected by looping walking and biking trails in the above-ground conservancy.

Pro tip: Birders will especially love the bird observation area, located just west of the visitor center. See a full map here.
