Cedric Antonio Kyles(born April 24, 1964), better known by his stage name Cedric the Entertainer, born in Jefferson City, Missouri, is an actor. He voices the rhino Carl in the first Ice Age film.

Born in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Kitrell and Rosetta (née Boyce) Kyles, a railroad company employee and schoolteacher respectively, Cedric grew up alongside his only sibling, his younger sister, Sharita Kyles Wilson, who is an adjunct communications instructor at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Cedric was brought up in Caruthersville, Missouri and following junior high school, moved to Berkeley, Missouri, where he graduated from its high school in St. Louis' northern suburbs. Cedric carries on his affiliation with his old high school by each year granting a scholarship to one graduating senior via his Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation Inc, which states "Reaching Out...Giving Back." as its credo. Majoring in Mass Communication at Southeast Missouri State University, Cedric worked as a State Farm insurance claims adjuster as well as a substitute high school teacher prior to becoming a full-time comedian. Cedric is also a member of the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi.
