It was introduced with a warning that fans would cry reading it, but I am not a fan of her genre of music, though I respect the singer, yet I didn't exactly remain dry-eyed reading it myself. I never knew Celine was 5ft7. She is the youngest of 14 kids who weren't brought up lavishly, but 'with plenty of love', often sleeping three to a bed. Love is all a child needs and any misery a youngster suffers in such circumstances is at the hands of his or her peers. It's an interesting thought that Celine grew to 5ft7, despite having only 'just enough' to get by, so it was in her genes to be that tall, and she reached her height by having enough food and healthy exercise, which is free in the form of walking after all. Remember, overeating leading to overweight is a form of malnutrition in itself. But what really upset me was reading how Celine, who had a struggle with her husband to conceive her three children, lost her beloved husband to cancer just before his 74th Birthday. Then just a couple of days later, she lost one of her brothers to the same cruel illness. How she managed to cope was down to the strength of her family. I believe she performed onstage the same day her husband died. It was her way, a very positive way, of coping with her loss. We all have problems, but how we deal with them depends on how we were shaped as a youngster, figuratively speaking, and often an upbringing in which you appreciate every morsel of food, yet are brought up with love, sets you up to be a far stronger and more resilient person. Whether tall or short shouldn't make us who we are. It's the same lousy peer pressure that gives a less advantaged child the unnecessary complexes as it is that affects the very short or tall, chubby or skinny youngster who is picked upon, causing suffering for the rest of his/her life, or until proper help is received. Prevention is the ideal remedy, but the human race is a cruel one. The sooner we accept ourselves the way we were made, and how we were brought up, the better. It is, after all, beyond our control, but what we do with our lives is not. Brave Celine gets 5ft7.
