When the singer was asked if she would date again, Dion shared a candid response. “I don’t know. I have no idea. But right this second, love is so big right now in my life, with my kids, with life itself. I’m not thinking about a relationship and falling in love again,” she said. “Do I have to say that it will never happen anymore? I don’t know.”

In a 2019 appearance on Today, Dion was asked if she was dating at the time. “I don’t date. I’m not ready to date,” she answered. “I’m very lucky and happy to have so many people in my surrounding to make me—they make me laugh.” However, Dion admitted that she missed the connection shared with a significant other. “I miss to be touched. I miss to be hugged. I miss to be told, ‘You’re beautiful.’ I miss what a boyfriend and I miss what a husband would do,” she continued.

The singer says her Las Vegas residency helped her following the loss of her husband.

Dion was not immune to the effects of the COVID pandemic. Her tour was canceled, and her family went into lockdown with the rest of the world. “The whole world shut off, and it was definitely different, but for us we were very fortunate,” she told Today. Dion and Angélil shared three sons: 20-year old René-Charles and 10-year old twins Eddy and Nelson.

The family went back to basics when they were home during the pandemic. “It was the old-fashioned family fun, simple pleasures of life, playing outside a lot, being with them, cuddling at night,” Dion recalled. “Honestly, making the best out of this.”
