Chanel West Coast was born in Los Angeles, California, on September 1, 1988. Her parents were divorced when she was young. She spent her childhood traveling between Los Angeles with her mother and New York, where her father worked as a D.J. As a result, she was exposed to music from a young age, which kindled her love of the art. She took singing and dancing lessons and began rapping at age 14. Her career took off when she met Rob Dyrdek through mutual friends in 2008. Later that same year, she appeared on Fantasy Factory, which kicked off her career in reality television.

Her bubbly personality was a big hit with fans. In 2011, she became a Ridiculousness co-host. She co-hosted the show for a total of 24 seasons over 11 years. “Ridiculousness” was her ticket into Hollywood, and in 2013, she met Lil Wayne and signed with his Young Money record label. Because of this, she collaborated with Snoop Dogg on a song titled ‘Put to Work’ in 2013.
