The information in this article applies to all Dropbox users.

You can change the language and date format of your Dropbox account. By default, Dropbox is in the language of the device used to access your Dropbox account.  

How to change the language of your Dropbox account

To change the language of your Dropbox account:

On dropbox.com In the Dropbox desktop app On the Dropbox mobile app

1. Log in to dropbox.com with your email, Google, or Apple account.
2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the bottom-left corner.
3. Click ☑ (language selector).
4. Click your preferred language when the Choose a language window pops up.

1. Open your Dropbox desktop app preferences.
2. Click the General tab.
3. Select your preferred language from the Language dropdown menu.

The language of the Dropbox mobile app matches the language on your operating system. 

1. Open your device settings and change your system language to your preferred language.

2. Restart your mobile device.

Your system language and all of your applications should now be in the language of your choice.

How to change file date format on dropbox.com

You can change how dates are shown on dropbox.com from your account settings. For example, you might prefer day/month/year rather than month/day/year.

To change the date format:

1. Log in to dropbox.com.
2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the bottom-left corner.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click the General tab.
5. Under Preferences, select the date format from the Date format dropdown menu.

Dates on dropbox.com will appear in the format you chose.
